COMMON GROUND COFFEE HOUSE #86

Is it fair to make your fans run when you are staying indoors? Good morning, Sue. Yes, it is more like August than October, isn't it?

I must work outdoors all day in the sun.

Cheers,

Jim

LOL Jim. I wouldn't get much work done without the fans on.

I am hoping we can get our winter yardwork done before the cold sets in for 'real'...

Good morning all -
There's a good breeze blowing this morning! The leaves don't seem to be turning yet, tho. How long will our hint of fall last this time??
Thanks for the info on the time change, Jim. If I had my way, it would be fall and winter all year.

Sue, do you miss "the corner"?

Thankful

We keep our house closed most of the year and run either the a/c or heat. There are two months they we can usually get by with fans only and one sometimes is October, but so far A/C is still on.

We will have more trouble with allergies if we open up the house for that "gentle" Oklahoma Wind.

Has anyone heard from Tony?

Sue are you still going to substitute at the corner? If you are you will keep in contact with those kids and still stay healthier.

Jim, my mind has been on that young man that killed himself with a bomb, so much that I thought you were talking about "football" fans.

The more they seem to downplay the incident the more concerned I am. I'm waiting for an all clear, but students returned to classes as usual today so please pray that they will be safe.

fan: a person who admires a personality...........oh, yes, it does refer also to the machine which oscillates and tends to move air.

I must learn to quit these subtle attempts at humour....lol

Cheers,

Jim

Jim, I read it right first time, huh?

Fortunately, they let the fans out in a timely manner when the game was over. They did have to avoid certain gates, but from all reports and the scenes on television, it was done very calmly. The University had certain plans already in place and implemented them. They have their own University police force, add City Police, County police, State Police and the FBI. They were well protected.

My husband does this to me all the time. He loves to use "puns".

Fans....boy do I feel dumb.

Jim; just what fans WERE you talking about?

I thought you were anwering my post about running the fans inside today.

Thankful

I think he was doing a little of both, Sue.

I know I am a "fan" of Jim. He probably will never tell us what he really did mean.

You know I come from the home of the pun and double entendre..East London, or Cockney country.

I was in fact, referring to the admiring fans of Sue. The young lad and husband; she would have her fans running whilst she enjoys the indoors......I know she meant that modern blower of air.

I had been using the hoover outdoors and collected some sand. I went to use it in my office and forgot to clean it out. A great cloud of dust shot out the vent hole and I had more to dust than I cared about. This fan, the hoover fan, blew it all over the place. Maybe the swiffer is the better tool to dust.

Cheers,

Jim

We have no problem here knowing which is which. A machine that blows the air around is a fan. An admirer or sports enthusiast is a Phan (as in Phillie Phanatic).

Do they still have a baseball team? Or, did you mean mascot?

We lost our BlueJay Birdie and haven't had a winning team since.

Cheers,

Jim

Well, I think you're all FANtastic, but I'm still going to bed. :D

I haven't been sleeping well so I'm taking some extra prayer time tonight.

Pleasant dreams all!

It's been a long Monday. Back to school after the week-end, added a new subject for this semester today (spelling & poetry in one book), and gave the dog a bath and cut her hair and pushed her pill down her throat. She wasn't really very happy with me today. I'm tired!!
Time to get some

Good morning all:

I slept much better last night, getting up at 5:00 this morning.

It is 63F with 100% humidity right now, heading for a high of 86F today.

I got quite a few things done yesterday and plan to do some more today.

I will surely be glad to get my own computer back. I will start to go to a site and remember that the bookmark is on MY computer, not this rented one...

HAGD!

Glad you slept better, Sue. I was the opposite. Woke up about half two and went to another site from overseas. We ended up with four attendees and we had a wonderful time of fellowship in the Lord. I finally went back to bed at half three.

I normally rise between four and five.

Cheers,

Jim

Jim, good fellowship with the Lord is a better restorer than sleep anytime.

I moved everything out of the kitchen, swept the floor, and was ready to mop when the mop broke!

Brent is almost done with his school work and we now have to make a trip to Wally World for another mop.

Our kitchen table is too small for the three of us. I found a larger table with two leafs (that extends the table to 5 1/2 feet) for $50.00. Dale will pick it up tonight so I want the floor mopped and waxed before he brings it home.

Have a great afternoon!

Evening all:

Didn't know if I was going to make it or not. I started having some serious pains in my side and hip (left one) on Friday. Early Saturday morning I got Viv up and had her take me to the ER in Murfreesboro, and they admitted me with a 5mm kidney stone. It was totally blocking my left kidney. I was passing blood, and they were very worried I might have kidney damage (because I'm diabetic). Very little was found. But the blockage was there, and the stone hadn't moved by Monday morning, so they "blasted" it. They told me there was a 20% chance I'd wake up with a cathetar (sp) and a stent...and guess what...I fell into that lucky 20 %. I was so miserable. But some of it had passed by this morning and they removed both and let me come home. I go back in a week for follow up. I can tell you now my back is bruised and I have a hard time walking.

It really had Viv worried. She hadn't seen me in that much pain since my back went out. And I seldom wake her to take me anywhere...ESPECIALLY TO A DOCTOR OR HOSPITAL! But, glad I did. If I'd have waited much longer, there would have been significant damage done to the kidney.

Thanks to those of you who prayed. I would have contacted ya'll but, Viv doesn't get on my computer often to post to anyone, even in emergencies.

Hope all is well with everyone else.

Oh, Tony! I'm so sorry, but so glad you posted. I was trying to think of a way to contact you or Viv and came up with nothing. I was really worried about you. I had to settle for praying for you...
