I really appreciate you saying this.
It is almost like a daily devotional.

Sometimes i wonder why i didn't just 'give up'
to start with and let God handle it.

Needless to say, i pray daily for those who
post regularly on this series of Topics.

Good morning all -
Great report, Tony! Prayer works!
T.S. Tammy is supposed to be passing right over us a little later. We've already been enjoying the rain last night and this morning. Hadn't rained in about 5 weeks.
Stew's cooking on the stove, school is going well, and I LOVE rainy days!!!

You're right, Bro. Ed. I am one of those that likes to 'help' God, but in the end it is to His arms that I run...

I closed the windows and turned the furnace on. Guess what? No heat!

We will just have to dress warm until hubby gets home from work and fixes it (hopefully).

Stay safe, Pamela.

Thankful

We got 1/2 inch rain last night and it is cold this morning. Well, it is 54 degrees.

MMMM, I want some of that stew, PamelaK.

Oh, PLEASE help yourself, Thankful. I think I made enough to last a week!
It was getting pretty windy here, but looks like everything's stopped for the moment. Maybe I can make it outside to get this last bag of trash out before they get here for the pick-up...

Keep safe, Pamela. TS's are dangerous, too. We're praying for ya'll down there. We've got relatives in Simpsonville and in other areas there.

Sue, we're praying for Dale. Hope he's able to stop those injections, too. I know they're not fun.

Ed, Thankful, Sue, others (don't feel left out if I didn't mention you personally)I thank God for the prayers that I got and get daily. I, too, pray daily for those on these forums. I'm so thankful that the Lord answers prayers.

It's around 80 here right now, but pretty comfortable. It's supposed to be even cooler this weekend. They're saying the "fall colours" aren't going to be here until late in the season, probably somewhere around Mid November. That's good for us. We love to drive down near Chattanooga on US 41 and see the turning of the leaves. It is so beautiful. We're looking forward to it this year since we won't be able to go home for Thanksgiving.

Did I hear someone mention "STEW"? Ah, I could do with some stew about now!

It's that time again folks. My bed is calling me and I'm going to answer it!

Dale had a Protime today and the Dr. said he is at 'high risk'. They increased his Coumidin and kept him on the Lovenox injections 2x a day. He has another ProTime Monday morning and an appointment with the Dr. Monday afternoon. He is still losing weight. Please pray for him.

Thanks and pleasant dreams all!

Lots of rain here from Tammy and lots more on the way! We're thankful for it since things were so dry and so far no damage.
Sue, praying for Dale.

TP Tammy looks better going the other way. We lost power for several hours. Me and JB sat outside listening to the police scanner. They said about 85% of their calls were for flooded areas. We hand our hands full today out in the field. The guys tell me there's nothing worse than being in a bucket, 30-40 feet in the air with wind and rain.

Morning all:

Sue, will continue to pray for Dale. I'm so glad I'm not on insulin injections yet. I don't know if I could stand it.

Pamela, keep dry.

Gib, my sis in Waycross said that it's a real pain right now. She told my sisters in Augusta (who are also getting whammed from what I'm told) that it's not been a good week as far as rain goes. Viv's sister said that last week the rain was so bad that they almost had it in their apartment. Will be glad when they finally get moved into their house.

It's a cool 57 here. No fog this morning, just cool, crisp fall air! I love it!
Viv has to work today. They said that they might cancel the OT this week because of some server problems, but at 2am they were still set up to work according to the "hotline". We're hoping she doesn't go in for a few hours and then come home.

Well, ya'll, have a great day. Be good, Be kind, Be careful.

Good morning all:

It is 43 here this morning, wind chill 39.. Brrrrrrrr. It should only get up to around 55 this afternoon.

Brent and I need to go down to Springfield today and buy a lawn sprinkler or two. We had TruGreen aerate our lawn and plant grass seed yesterday. We have huge areas where we have tried everything and can't get grass to grow. It is a muddy mess when it rains and a dustbowl when it doesn't! We have a $50.00 credit at Lowe's so we're using that for the sprinklers.

I think we both need a little break from our routine, so we will probably eat lunch down there too. Brent loves Sonic!

Pastor Bob and family will be here late this afternoon. And I'm hoping I can pick up my computer today so I can take this rental back and not have to pay another week's rent on it.

It is going to be a good day!

Will be praying you have journey mercies, Sue. Also for Pastor Bob and family.
We've got to do some things to our yard this coming week, like mow, pull up the rest of the fench posts, and I'd like to have someone come in and level it out. It's really a mess with all these pits and uneven spots. But, as the Lord provides.

We are only supposed to hit 62 today and it's supposed to be misty rainy. That will be a nice change.

Good morning all...
Raining steadily here, pretty hard for an hour earlier this morning. Tony, Augusta's getting it really hard from what I heard on the radio. We're not too far from there, but a week or two ago parts of the city got flooded and we got nothing here...absolutely nothing. When we all watched the news we said "Rain? What rain?!?" LOL! Well, we're making up for it now!!
Sue, my son loves Sonic too. Occasionally I take advantage of their 5 for $5 burger nights on Tuesdays after I pick him up from karate classes. They make good leftovers the next afternoon for lunch too.
Have a great day, ya'll!

Good Morning, everyone!

We have TruGreen fight the weeds in our yard. Our yard looked really good until the neighbor had their sprayed and some of "whatever" got over in our yard and caused huge brown spots. I had rather have weeds than brown spots.

Fortunately, the yard has recovered and is green again.

It is cold here also 48 degrees. Something is bothering Muffin. Oh, I see, it is a cat in the yard across the street.

Muffin belongs to the cat haters club, but they only bother him when they come close to his territory.

Sue, hope Dale is feeling better and you and Brent has a great trip.

Tony, our yard is very uneven. One doesn't notice it until they try to walk across the yard. Not sure what we can do about it. We have been putting some dirt around, but it is a slow process.

Got to go.

Our yard is not green or even. It has never been green or even. It probably won't ever be green or even until I get this house sold and some "green" people move in! LOL!

It seems that rin is the order of the day everwhere. It just poured down all night and came close to half filling the wheelbarrow.

We have a few gullies in our immediate front garden, but that is also where the septic bed is...sinks next to the drain pipes. We have to add topsoil every few years. The rest of the three acres of turf we don't trouble about. It looks fine from a distance. This summer was bad because it was so dry.

It is cool here, but not as bad as those parts of Canada that got 2 feet of snow; Alberta and Northern Ontario. Now they wold welcome green about now.

Cheers,

Jim

Oh, if we could just get some rain.

We got some small tornados from Hurricane Rita a couple of weeks back that uprooted 2 very large trees in my yard and 1 in my mother's. But no rain worth mentioning.

Plus, with a summer of NO rain at all, I lost a beautiful oak tree to drought and so did my mother.

It's funny how that tree was still beautiful, even in death. Limbs full of dead leaves, but the tree was still beautiful.

After Rita came and uprooted the other trees and brought down SEVERAL large dead limbs from the massive oaks, mother and I decided to have the two giant dead oaks cut down.

So our yards have been busy with people chopping up the fallen trees and cutting down the other two and chopping it all up for firewood.

Our yards are a mess and we can't burn the stumps and the "leftover" limbs because of a burn ban. It's too dry. And it will cost you a $500 fine.

So we are waiting for the rain drops.

.............................

But some good news....

I paid my house off yesterday! I have alternated between crying and shouting, but I am praising God regardless. People think I am crazy, but I don't care.

God is good. Very good. All the time.

Peace-
Scarlett O.

Wow! You have a sis in Waycross! My entire family came from Waycross. I get to go back every couple of years. I feel I will be going soon because my mom's cousin Virgil is dying of cancer and is not expected to last much longer.

Hey all:

I heard that there is a process which one can do with a tractor, pulling a plow type thing behind to cut all of the dirt. Then the areas that are uneven can be marked and extra truckloads of dirt can be brought in and then packed down. Then all that is left is the seeding.

Sonic was where Vivian and I ate on Wednesday night after we got out of the doctors office. We got the Rt 44 Cherry Limeade. We love it!

FBCPW, my sister and her five girls have lived there since 2003. My now ex-BIL and she moved there after he had resigned his church and then gone to Lancaster, CA for six months to recoup under Paul Chappell. They then moved to Waycross because that is where my ex-BIL's family is. They went to several churches there, he got a job at Lowes and then started a church. After the church started to grow a very little bit, he walked off his job at Lowes and left my sister holding the bag as far as supporting the family. She works in real estate. They were divorced on April 27th. He had been like this and invented stories, treated her badly, etc, for almost 15 years. I don't agree with or like divorce, but in this case, I was glad to have her wake up and smell the coffee. She and the girls are doing well now and are able to serve the Lord with gladness, not just fear and browbeating. I think she's planning on moving to Augusta sometime near soon.

I'm sorry to hear about Virgil. I will be praying for him.
