Gina, I don't like rain for days on end either, but after the severe drought we had last summer, I will take any kind of precipitation I can get.

Also, at least with rain, you won't have the bad fires they're having in OK and TX...

See? There really IS a silver lining to every cloud (pun intended).

Thanx Sue!!

And a double thanx for not boxing my ears. hope ya got that piece of fudge I hid for ya!

Pappy,
Yer mentioning cows reminded me of the time I auditioned for America's Funniest People back in the 90's. I wrote a song for the occasion. Unfortunately, they went off the air before it could go on. We all felt it was a sure winner. May redo the video and send it to America's Funniest Home Videos. Need to find a cow pasture to make it more realistic....

I love rain, but no, didn't pray for it.
Things are overflowing a little. I'd love to see how high the Rogue is, but they've got the road closed though that leads to the park around the corner from us where I can see it from. They took away the flood warnings today, but since it's supposed to rain all week I'm wondering if that'll change. We HAVE seen some really pretty rainbows! The girls pointed out one that looked like it came from a story book, with very wide archs and very distinct colors.

I saw a pine tree in the neighbors back yard fall about 10 minutes ago. I've never been standing there and just seen a tree fall on it's own. The crackling sound got my attention and I was just in time to see it. It was kinda funny, although I'm guessing he won't be amused when he sees it.

Picture this, Ron dressed up like a schoolkid from back in the 20's. Knickers, the funny hat, bowtie... the whole 9 yards.

As I throw my string of books down on the floor, I start singing.... (to the tune of Camptown Races for any that care to sing along... teehee)

I came home from school today, with lice, how nice (big smile)
Mama can't afford to pay for shampoos they sell
Gonna scratch all night (scratches head)
I hope they're here to stay
Cuz they won't let me back in school until they're gone away.

Now, here is where you get to participate... I need two volunteers. Lessee, Gina and Preacher, you'll do well... come on up here. Go to the dressing rooms and put these bib overalls on.

Good. Now pick up that white bucket there in the corner.... I know it looks disgusting, but it is chocolate pudding with just a couple drops of green food coloring and a little bit of grass mixed in.

Here's what I want you to sing. Let me put those lyrics on the stand. And follow the actions....All right, here we go!

Both sing:
Farmer Brown has found a cure; for lice, no price
(my jaw drops open and I put hand to my cheek)
Fifteen pounds of cow manure; you need some today
(Gina and Preacher dump the bucket on my head and start rubbing... I have both hands on my face now with eyes wide)
You'll be back in school before you miss that test
This will kill those lice today, Cow-Poo works the best!

Thanks guys, you may return to yer seats. Oh, and quit licking yer fingers.

That was fun, and so tasty! Yum yummm...

I had a cow sneeze on me once, it was so gross! All orange and all over me, I think it must have been a gallon of big orange cow boogers!

sfiC, that would be a hilarious video!

Gina,

It was. we have a copy of it. It was done in Four Seasons Town Center in Greensboro, NC. My nephew and his friend played the farmers (you and preacher were'nt there). We had four floors of people laughing at us.

It also made the Greensboro News & Record - the local newspaper.

Happy New Year, whoever it's NY for already!

We got down to the river. :D WOW! It's way over the banks. A picnic bench is wedged sideways between two trees where it must have floated when it was more flooded.
The water is still covering the boatramp and part of the parking area and is pretty wild. We got there just in time to see a group of rafter's getting into their kayak's and take off! One got stuck behind a water rush and it was kinda funny to watch, it finally sucked him upside down and under and he came out the other side.

Two young lady's on horses were there and one tried to get close to the water and the horse shook it's head and turned around, the girls got a kick out of that! You could almost hear it say "nope, ain't goin' there madam!"

Home made pizza huh? Sounds good! Does she make the crust herself too? I've tried that, can't seem to get it right, it breaks, so if she does please ask her to share the secret!

Agee does make her own crust, I'll try to remeber & get it to ya some time....next year!
My plan didn't work too good. We were watchin the movie "Snow Dogs" & BH went to sleep halfway thru curled up on Agee's shoulder.(she likes her long hair). I just put her in her cage & she stuck her head out long enough to yawn & try to pull my hand in. She can be plum' sweet at times.
Guess I'll have to pull double duty tonite between bed & the Coffee Shop!
Pappy...he's somewhere in Ireland I believe.
