Morning all:

It was quite a stormy night here in Southern Middle Tennessee. We got more hail and really strong winds. They estimated the winds at 50-60 mph. It nearly took down the neighbors flag pole and did take down some power lines close by. It's still raining a little here now, and more storms are coming. It was just as bad on Saturday evening, and we didn't get to bed until after 3 AM on Sunday morning. Needless to say, we didn't go to church. We also ended up missing our FPU class last night.

Well, hope ya'll have a great day!

Good morning all,

Busy week planned, cleaning the house, doing laundry, then preparing food for the big picnic on Memorial Day.

It is supposed to be in the 70's today and mid-eighties the rest of the week.

It's going to be nice enough today to hang the clothes out on the line. I love to crawl into bed with sheets that have dried outside!

Time for coffee,

Memorial Day? Picnic? Why Sue, it's so kind of you to cook for us all!

It's a nice cool morning here. I like it! If I can wake up all the way I'll take the kids to school. Nap yesterday, went to bed early, I'm still out of it!

The girls school is going to be missing a few teachers this coming school year. There's two that I'll be really sad to see go. They don't know who the new ones will be yet, and asked us to spread the word. So there ya go. Teachers, come teach! :D 5th and 6th. (because that's where my kids are. I find it odd that it's the teachers of MY kids who are leaving. HRM)

Sue, what a feast! Sounds delicious! I know you will all have a great time.

We are going to have my hubby's family over for a cook out. Burgers and hotdogs, etc. Nothing fancy.

I am leaving tomorrow a.m. for my granny's house in TN. She has been down here for a couple of weeks to see the newest great-great-grandchild, Lora Isabelle, who was born last week. My granny is 92 and still going strong.

Today is our 24th wedding anniversary! Wooo-hoooo! We made it another year!

Jim, please don't encourage him, you KNOW what a troublemaker he can be.

Sorry I 'tattled' on you, but it was for a good cause. I knew Dan couldn't resist stopping by to see a triple post. :D

Well, I'm not stiff, from my fall yesterday. PTL! Actually, I'm not even bruised that badly (although it feels like I am).

Dale is only working 1/2 day today. He has to drive to Springfield and have the battery in his defibrillator checked. Nothing wrong, he just has to do this four times a year.

Time for coffee,

Morning all:

Sue, glad you survived the fall. I had one myself yesterday and am barely able to walk. I was trying to do something I shouldn't have been, but, it had to be done and Vivian couldn't do it. I know I won't do it again, though. Bad Tony....bad, bad, BAD Tony! :(

I have a doctors appointment tonight for adjustment on my meds. I'm not looking forward to that.

It's supposed to reach nearly 90 here today. I bet it's going to be a hot, humid summer here! Viv's tomato's were doing well until the other day when those winds came ripping through. Some of them go hit by debris and are almost or completely dead. We might not have a garden this year.

Well, hope ya'll have a great day.

Good morning, this afternoon.

I make my day; my day doesn't make me. That was a motto I learned many years ago, and hence, I always have a good day, even when I don't.

Encourage Dan! It is a tough job, but someone has to do it.

We all tend to do things we aren't supposed to. I climb ladders, when wife isn't looking, but I have doctor's orders not to do so. I used to fall about 5 times each day, but I haven't had a tumble for months now. I try to restrict my tumbles to winter with 3 feet of snow on the ground....softer landing!

I wear $400.00 insoles in my boots which help with balance. I found the secret though...my $200.00 boots are so heavy I can't go anywhere! So, I slipp the $400.00 insoles in my $50.00 shoes and almost run about...I did say almost.

Enough grumping for to-day. We are off to veterinary to recover a dog. He had a three inch thorn hidden in his leg and it had to be discovered by xray and cut out. Usually they show after a day or two and I can pull them out with pliers...not this time.

Cheers,

Jim

Good evening all,

Hope your dog is all right, Jim.

We had another busy, but productive day, and I am tired...again...

Pleasant dreams all!

Good day!

Dog is fine, Sue, thank you...$172.00 later... Veterinary put the thorn from Snoop's leg in a vial for me to see. Just another day in the pet world.

The sun is out nice and bright to-day, but it remains cool. I will prolly spend a good deal of time outdoors. We have a new window to be installed in the living room, and I need to prepare for it....my preparation is standing in every conceivable spot and looking at the blank wall...this supervisor's role can be very exhausting...

Cheers,

Jim

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is the last day of school! Yay!!!! We survived another year!

Jim, I have a dog and kid story for you. Monday evening the kids decide to go swimming. I've been having a problem with the pool pump leaking so the water was down a bit in the pool. Can't have that so the kids decide to hook up the hose to the sprinkler and set it on the side of the pool to make a "fountain". They had a blast and the last thing I told the kids before they came in was to go turn off the hose.(end of first half of kid story)

Now for the dog story: Since my huskies are escape artists I have to keep them tied so they don't eat the neighbors cats. This winter I kept them close to the house so it was easy to bring them in at night. But now it's summer so I moved them down below the swimming pool under some nice shady trees. They really don't like it down there cause they are afraid they'll miss a dropped scrap or something. To bad, cause that's where they are staying. So Cass gets up yesterday morning and says the dog fussed all night long, I didn't hear it because my room is on the front of the house. My poor neighbors. I didn't really pay it much attention cause I figured the dogs just wanted back up on the deck. I told Cass to go out and make sure they weren't tangled and give them a rawhide. (my dogs expect a good morning treat every morning!) Off she went, the dogs settled down with their bones and all was calm again.

I sat down to watch the news and have my first cup of coffee of the morning. Then I happened to glance out the door and see my swimming pool. First I congratulated myself on how nice the pool and backyard are looking, then something caught my attention. The pool was looking awfully FULL! Have you guessed yet what the dogs fussed about all night?

Yep, my children had left the hose on all night. No fountain because the sprinkler had fallen into the pool. When the pool overflowed, the water headed straight out to where my poor dogs were tied. They barked all night trying to tell us they were getting flooded!

Didja notice Cass' part in this story? She walked past the overflowing pool skimmer, through the water, down to the dogs and back again and didn't notice the sound of the waterfall coming from the pool or bother to tell me that the yard was wet. She said she thought it had rained! Sometimes I worry about my children......

Ya'll have a good day!

I understand Huskies,,,the last dog we acquired was a Husky left in the fields to survive on its own. It was a day off starvation when we found her and took her to veterinary.....at any rate, with four other dogs in house, I don't have to tell you about how they don't socialize well with other dogs. She loves to nip ears. She tried the Great Dane,,that didn't work. She tried the Black German Shepherd,,that didn't work. She tried the Golden Lab,,that didn't work. That left the little Beagle, and he got annoyed and he may be small, but he has a huge growl and when he shows those little teeth, you better pay mind. I think the Husky has been put in her place, but she loves the cats when they go outdoors. The cats head directly for a little shelter built for them....the Husky chased tow cats toward the shelter and because the doorway is only for cats, she ran right into the solid wall, fell back with feet in air, and that put an end to chasing cats.

Oh the delights of pet ownership!

Cheers,

Jim

Good morning all,

I sure wish Insight would get their Internet problems worked out! I cannot send or receive emails from my Insight account today. I am using gmail until it is fixed, but most people don't have the addy...

This has been going on for almost a month. I told them I expected AT LEAST three weeks deducted from my bill next month!

We are scrubbing down the bathroom this morning and washing some more windows later today. No rain was forecast until next Tuesday. We washed three windows yesterday. Guess what? Rain forecast for tonight. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Time for coffee,

Evening all,

Well, we didn't get much accomplished with the windows today because of the weather.

We had thunderstorms, rain, and high winds most of the day and we are still under a tornado watch for another hour.

I'm going to bed with a book.

Pleasant dreams all!
