Just as Jesus cannot be inferior to the fatherNO, for starters, God cannot lie!
All three are the same God, YHWH. Just that Jesus is now an immortal man, which God is not. 1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 13:8.all 3 are equally God!
Jesus is currently seated at the right hand of the Father. That's a subordinate position, and it's now.Jesus was in that servant position while here on earth, and had accepted limitations, so not true now!
Jesus is God manAll three are the same God, YHWH. Just that Jesus is now an immortal man, which God is not. 1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 13:8.
Right hand position of authority and power, not subordination!Jesus is currently seated at the right hand of the Father. That's a subordinate position, and it's now.
Anyone who ever served in the military understands that subordination does not mean inferiority or inequality. Wives are certainly neither inferior nor unequal when they submit to their husbands in accordance with Scripture. The same is true of the voluntary hierarchy present in the Trinity: Father, Son, Spirit.
The "fully God" argument is overly simplistic and leads to error. Maybe this analogy will illustrate:Is Jesus fully God?
How about this, All that makes the Father to be God, Jesus has it also! The "fully God" argument is overly simplistic and leads to error. Maybe this analogy will illustrate:
Is a man fully human? (Yes). Is a woman fully human? (Yes).
Can a man conceive and give birth to a child? (No). Can a woman conceive and give birth to a child? (yes).
Wait a minute. The man is fully human and it is impossible for him to birth children.
To say a woman can do something the man can't, you're saying she is not fully human!
Can you spot the fallacy?
Mark 10:37. Matthew 24:23-25. Read and learn.Right hand position of authority and power, not subordination!
Can Jesus do things the Father can't do?How about this, All that makes the Father to be God, Jesus has it also!
Not right now!Can Jesus do things the Father can't do?
Hebrews 7:25. Revelation 5:5. Read and learn. Not right now!
Five pages and counting folks. This thread asks if one Person of the Trinity is more powerful that the other two? Which is false doctrine. Also buried in the heap is the contention that the incarnation "enabled" God the Son to be able to do things the other two persons could not do. This too is false doctrine, there is no magic power that enables God. Good Grief!
Questions dodged by many posters:
1) Since Jesus was "all knowing" why did He not know the time of His return?
2) Since the Holy Spirit is "all knowing" why did He not know the time of Christ's return?
"More powerful" is an erroneous phrase. Jesus is not "more powerful" than the Father because He came to earth and was born and died as a man. Philippians 2 says Jesus "emptied Himself" of His equality with God to become human - less than, not more than, deity; less powerful, not more powerful. Jesus' humanity was therefore empowered by the Spirit of God and the Word of God, not by His own personal deity which He voluntarily set aside on our behalf. This thread asks if one Person of the Trinity is more powerful that the other two? Which is false doctrine.
Well, Sir, their appears to be some "folks" who think dodging the questions is appropriate. I will not wait with "bated breath" for your answer of these:Van, is there a big audience of "folks" sitting in an auditorium somewhere, waiting with bated breath, nodding with approval, as you read and speak your pronouncements displayed on giant Trinitron flatscreens?
Since God is all knowing and all powerful and omnipresent there is nothing He does not know everything about, nor was Christ alone on that Cross. This includes the pain and suffering of Christ. Along with the presents of The Father and the Holy Spirit. No earhtly father ever watched his son die with out feeling every bit of it why should the Father God not feel every bit of what happened as well? They as God were all there. Jesus was God in the flesh. While He was here on earth, could Jesus do things that the other 2 Persons of the Godhood could never do?

Good thing I did not wait with baited breath for this person to contribute something useful. If I don't answer, would that motivate you to put my avatar up on the Trinitron? A flight Marine Corps CH46E's is a thing of beauty and I know the "folks" would love it.
That depends on whose breath was bated.Good thing I did not wait with baited breath for this person to contribute something useful.
