Trump is aware the disease does not fit the extreme model Fauci insisted was true and Trump no longer makes decisions based on it and maybe also Fauci is deprecated. I get sense when the expert is proven faulty, Trump distances himself from their advice and rightly so.

there are several solutions available for America TO GET UP FROM THE KNOCK DOWN, but these solutions require bellwether environmentally sealed geographical areas where the population must bravely and patriotically volunteer to put their life on the line to test a rebound theory - WE HAVE NO CHOICE - WE MUST ADMIT THAT WE ARE DOWN FOR THE COUNT - lets get back up and trust God (AS OUR MONEY SAYS) to strengthen our president , to strengthen us and give us the victory.
yes i am 78 years old and yet desire to live but so what if we die, look what Islamic suicide bombers do for their god.
i AM NOT suggesting suicide bombing but volunteering in my community for experimentation to throw off the virus though a certain percentage of us will die.

For this specific task, I would say a statistician is much better suited to number crunch than a Medical Doctor.

You should stop saying that the death rate is 4.4% when you do not have the slightest idea how many cases total there have been. You are spreading speculation and disinformation.
IMH (non-medical) O - the mortality rate (deaths to cases) is like baseball's RBI - it is a useless number that reflects nothing of the issue.
The reason is the cases (if they were accurate) are open. A more useful ratio would be deaths to recovery (but that would be a horrible number).
And RBI's has little to do with the batter.

But even that would be a flawed number because we don't know how many cases there truly are. The only way to really know would be to literally test everyone in the United States, find out how many are actually infected, quarantine those, then you get the true mortality rate.

We can only use the data we have. Mortality rate is deaths/ cases which gives us a world mortality rate of 6.5%. But the recovery rate using the same method is 25%. I think people use stats that create the narrative they want. If you just look at closed cases the mortality rate would be 26% and the recovery rate would be 74%.
My point is that we are factoring in the unknown (the infected who have neither recovered nor died).
And of course, the data is imperfect as you point out. There are other issues like age and the possibility COVID-19 was not actually the cause of death, ect.
