Denominational Sites

Relief Is Yet To Come

I didn't count them, but there is a very long list for Christian Denominations on Wiki

But keep in mind, this list is world wide - in addition - some overlap, for example the list includes the SBC and the Southern Baptists of Texas - of which all would be part of the SBC...

But an interesting article overall.

I am a Baptist and thankful of it ( I can't imagine myself being anything else........denominationally speaking anyway) because I believe sincerely that they are closest to the truth in the Biblical sense.

That said, I believe that it will be such a relief to get to Heaven where there will be NO DENOMINATIONS (by definition: divisions) FOREVERMORE. What a blessing that will be....to be eternally in the very presence of our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ in the home prepared for us.

I currently attend a moderate-sized SBC church but I am, at heart, more of an old-fashioned Independent Baptist. For now I am trying to grow where God "planted" me after a long season of being out of fellowship with the Lord. I'm thankful for His grace and mercy and that all of that is behind me now. God is GOOD....always! Let us all glory in the Book, the Blood, and the Blessed Hope of His soon appearing!:praying:

Great post Greg. There won't be any denominations in Heaven and that's awesome!. I too like the church I attend now (Free Will Baptist), but I couldn't agree with you more about denominations and division. That won't mean a thing when we meet face to face with Jesus.

Since by definition many Baptist churchs consider themselves to be denominations unto themselves (consistent with a local church only definition of the word ecclesia, and no this is not the thread to debate that idea), I am posting the address for Hamilton Square Baptist Church of San Fancisco, California.
This is the ministry God used to draw me to Him. The first service I attended, Sunday evening in Nov/Dec 1960, a young lady greeted me as I entered the vestibule. After serving overseas, I returned to the USA in 1964. We were married in 1965!

Does this mean you sat under the ministry of Arno Q.Wenigar, Sr.?

Baptist Union of Great Britain
Just to say that if you are coming to the UK on holiday and are looking for a Bible-believing Baptist church, the Baptist Union is not the best place to look. While there are some good churches that still belong to thye B.U., most of them have become liberal to some degree.
You will do well to look either here Churches - FIEC or here Church Directory - A to B
The FIEC is not specifically a Baptist fellowship, but just about every member church is baptistic in its practice.

If you visit Europe - or know of a GI station, esp in Germany- vist a IBC (and there are some in England)

In a sense - they would be a "State Convention of the SBC. Many of the pastors have been pastors in the SBC, and ect.
