WOW--I can't believe that there are so many different groups that call themselves Baptists!! Gonna check out those links--looks like a cafeteria of Baptists!!

I'm an Independent Fundamental Baptist--but I didn't see that one listed---at least they aren't listed as IFB.

God bless

I am a southern Baptist and have been for nearly 30 years. I grew up in the Presbyterian Church of America, a very conservative branch. It is odd but I find the PCA closer to the SBC than some other types of Baptists.

WWW.oldregularbaptist.com will give you the website of the Indian Bottom Association of Old Regular Baptists. They broke off from the OLD Indian Bottom Assoc because they started using preachers who were divorced and remarried...I personally don't see a problem with it. They have 30+ churches located in Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Indiana, and may Tennessee and Illinois. Click on the music link at the bottom of the page and if you have Real Player or Windows Media Player, you can listen to some of their music. I especially love "Guide me, O thou Great Jehovah" and "The Day is Past and Gone". May God Bless!! John 3:16 :1_grouphug:

United Baptists

Speaking of websites, I looked through the early part of this thread and noticed someold sites I used to maintain.

Bethel Association of United Baptist Churches of Jesus Christ doesn't have a website for now. The United Baptist Research website has moved to:

Applier of the redemption purchased by Christ.
4. We believe in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost and these three are one.
5. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament, as recorded in the AUTHORIZED KING JAMES VERSION of the BIBLE, to be the infallible Word of God, take it for our only true rule of faith and practice, and nothing is to be added or taken from it.
6. We believe in free atonement of Jesus Christ, and that He tasted death for every man and that salvation is offered to all men and women upon the terms of the gospel.
7. We believe that repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are necessary previous to baptism and that immersion is the only right way of administering the ordinance.
8. We believe that Christ has but one true gospel church and that it will finally persevere through grace to glory.
9. We believe in the communion of the Lord's supper, that is taking of the bread and wine by the Church of Jesus Christ in commemoration of the death and suffering of the Son of God until his second coming.
10. We believe that feet washing is an ordinance of Jesus Christ and ought to be observed and kept by His Church until His second coming.
11. We believe in the sum of the moral law as it stands on record in the Book of Exodus.
12. We believe that Jesus Christ is the first resurrection from the dead and that He lives forever.
13. We believe in the resurrection of the just and the unjust.
14. We believe in the final punishment of the wicked and the eternal happiness of the righteous.

There are a lot of Baptist Churches. I grew up on Independent Baptist and Missionary Baptist. I have been a Sourthern Baptist for over 25 years now and do not see a change any where in my future.
God bless each of you.:praying:

I feel the Baptist Churches on the Eastern Shore of Virginia got isolated by history and the influx of other Baptist doctrines of the North mitigrating toward that area created conglomerates. I get the opinion that the original Red Bank Baptist Churches stayed status quo.
