You did not answer my question. Did David suffer hell fire? Now, if what David said was not what happened to Jesus, How do we know that it was these things that happened to David that happened to Jesus rather than hell fire? It was you that coupled their experiences together. -- Herb Evans

That sounds like what the JW's teach in that fire is not fire but a mere symbol. Pray tell, how do you know that? Have you consider the rich man that was tormented in the flame? Was that real fire? -- Hreb Evans

Aaron, not to be disrespectful but you speak as a foolish man to try to make me or anyone think you know what physical death entails. You keep referring back to Ps but that does nothing to tell you how it will be in death. If it were written word for word, you still would not know when the Bible says there is a "sting" to death. My friend, you do not know what that sting feels like and how much suffering it is. Also, the scripture tells us that Christ suffered in death.

I can't believe what I am reading. You are the first person I have ever ran in to that says there is no suffering to death. Jesus said He would not forsake us, even in death, but we still will suffer the sting.

I do not know why you would say such a thing when it only makes you look bad and unlearned. It serves no purpose whatsoever and yet it brings harm to you in the eyes of the beholder.

Then we have Christ becoming a man to be crucified...Praise God!

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...

So here again we have a man 3 parts...Spirit, Soul & Body.

All agreed so for?

The next is an important verse in your KJV bible!!!!

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

We have a sin-sick soul and the "soul" that sinneth it shall die...

Christ was not a sinner, he took our sins upon himself...in his body.

(45) And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.

When we die our spirit (small s) returns to the God who gave it.

We die and God takes our spirit, when Christ died he GAVE up his spirit...no mere man can let his spirit go...he was the God-man...hallelujah! (see Ecclesiastes 8:8)

Regarding the tabernacle.

(27) Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 2:30-32
(30) Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
(31) He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
(32) This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Bear with me brethren...if the Bible means what it says Jesus' soul went to hell when He dismissed His spirit.

Am I saying that Christ needed to suffer in hell to finish the sacrifice for our sins, Absolutely NOT!

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust...

So what then do I see?

Leviticus 16:20-21
(20) And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:
(21) And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

I see here a fore shadowing of Christ taking our sins away to the pit of hell!

He not only paid the price for our sins but got rid of them in the fires of hell. Glory to God!!

NEXT:

Did he stay there for 3 days? NO

When a sinner goes to hell, we know he can never leave, correct?

The only exception was Jonah because he was a great type of our Lord Jesus Christ! (Jonah 2:2 & 6)

So I repeat:

If the sin was in His soul and not His body He couldn't have escaped! (Ezekiel 18:4)

After the Cross work was complete Christ took the keys of hell and of death!

Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

There is bondage in hell, there are gates in hell, there are bars in hell...it is a prison!

NEXT:

If Jesus died at the ninth hour and the Hebrew day ended at the 12th hour Jesus needed to be in paradise by that 12th hour! He said the thief would be with Him that same day!

Luke 23:42-44
(42) And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
(43) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
(44) And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until theninth hour.

So what do we have so far?

Jesus died, offered His blood in the Holy of Holies, rent the veil, took ours sins to hell, took the keys of hell and death and now He is off to keep the appointment He made.

Exactly the reason why the Old Testament saints were waiting for Christ to take them from Abraham's bosom to heaven!

Exodus 34:6-7

(7) Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Sins were forgiven but the record could not be cleared without the precious Blood of Christ!

Back to the under world...the study of who He preached to in prison can be another topic, I'll let it alone for now.

So after the great reunion in paradise for 3 days it was time to move on! God's clock never misses a beat!

Matthew 27:50-53
(50) Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
(51) And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
(52) And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
(53) And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

They were prisoners of hope...now resurrected, so were they like the night of the living dead?

Resurrection is not about death and corruption, but about life .

Think about Lazarus, Jonah, Jesus...etc ; they did not resurrect into old corrupt bodies.

Ephesians 4:8-10
(8) Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
(9) (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
(10) He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

So what do we have for three days?

Jesus died.
Offered His blood in the Holy of Holies.
Rent the veil.
Took ours sins to hell.
Took the keys of hell and death.
He kept the appointment He made.
Spent the three days there with the OT saints.
They had a street meeting.
Then ascended to heaven with the Lord.

Jesus suffer in Hell alright but it was not the Hell where the lost souls are. When He suffered it was for the sin of the world. Those in Hell where the rich man is, there was no reason to suffer for them, for they are lost.

His Soul never died and hell is a place of confinement and Jesus's hell was when He was confined to the Cross. Its the only place I read where He was confined and His soul still with Him.

Jonah was in the belly of the fish and out of the belly of hell cried I.

Some were confined in their graves and it was a type of hell.

Jesus had no reason to go to Hell of torment they were already lost.

Again, the same scripture is talking about His body not seeing corruption which He was only 3 days in the tomb and arose. His

Soul in Hell IMO, is when He was confined to the cross for our sins for that is where He paid the price.
