So nobody but Christians are married? How about John the Baptist telling Herod it was sin to have his brother's wife? Where does it say marriages are performed by churches?

1). The lost are subject to God’s law -Romans states it is part of the fallen attributes done by “nature.”

    2) The Word of God is effective no matter the state of belief.

    • Everyone who worships the TRUE GOD is married by the TRUE GOD. (Adam, Noah, Abraham,Moses, Israelites, Jews, Samaritans, Christians)
    • Breaking a marriage vow (to God) is a sin.
    • Jesus forgives lots of sins.

I am responsible for setting someone on fire before I was saved. It is one of MANY sins that I committed. It is certainly far more harmful to another person than two unsaved people getting divorced. I am confident that God has forgiven my sin because of Jesus blood shed on the Cross.

That God would forgive me the permanent scarring of another human being, but refuse to forgive a failed marriage between two unsaved people seems ridiculous. However I object less to the "illogic" of it than I object to the "bondage" it places people under with no clear scriptural support for this sin being different from all other sins.

But you repented from doing that. You cannot continue in adultery any more than you can continue lighting people on fire.

    I cannot "un-burn" the person.
Most cannot "un-divorce" their ex-spouse (especially if one or both may have remarried).

You are calling for restitution, not repentance.
That is US paying to right our sins.

Continuing in sin is sin. You must stop to be forgiven.

If I murdered someone, how do I stop being a murderer?
You are asking someone to stop being "divorced and remarried" before God can forgive them of the sin of getting divorced. So it would have been better to just fornicate ... God can forgive that sin.

Your position is just plain wrong. That is why there are no scriptural examples supporting it. The woman at the well was not sent back to her first husband BEFORE Jesus would forgive her.

Repentance means you stop murdering and stop living in adultery.

Yes, valid, as he gave institution to all people, but the scriptures adress just the position of what to do after getting saved!

Yes, repent, confess it to the Lord, and then have God bless your remarriage, and make sure this one sticks!
