Why do you persist on making such unnecessary bifurcated statements when there are clearly more options than A or B available? I'm just askin man.

Listen, I like that you have the spiritual gift of starting posts. That's cool I don't have it. But some of your questions are just too stratifying.

Must have one of those Gifts Paul overlooked, Eh?

I have no problem with that, as I said, what would be a dividing line would be those adhering to Evolutionary process, especially a Darwainen approach!

That is one "hot button" in that some (not here) do not understand completely the term "evolution", immediately they assume darwinian, because that is simply all they know. Many scientists of all flavors, support "evolutionary processes" but also hold to strong faith in a personal and sovereign God.

I personally do not KNOW how things developed from the instant of Genesis 1, I do not "think" it is a simple as some would like to suggest, although I do acknowledge that it most certainly could be. Thus, I do not and will not discount evolutionary processes as a means of God creating life. It, to me, is within the realm of possibilities. Whatever the means and mechanisms, in my view, it was directed and under the control of YHWH.

Would say that all of us would hold to "evolution" with same species to adapt to conditions...

Just saying that there would be NO evolution that would have a specied transforming into a seperate/distinct another species by ANY process, and that the area of Mankind is where CANNOT have evolution evolved at all,,as we were the "special Creation" directly by God, IF one holds to believing in the biblcal texts as inerrant/inspired by God!

I am not exactly sure what you just said or asked.

You've got to be careful here. No new genetic information is being created within a species, only lost. It's not as if a population of African elephants could develop a gene for woolly fur if subjected to gradual climate change over thousands of years.

Organisms don't change, only populations, and the changes are limited to the existing genetic information.

was just asking what type/kind of evolution would you see that a Christian could support without being in disagreement with the Word of God?

Well, I am not going to speak on this for any other believer (or person in general). It is something each one must decide for him/herself. Their are some, albeit not many, who hold to even to strict naturalistic (darwinian) evolution. I would not find myself in that camp. I say again, I don't KNOW or claim to KNOW the "how" of creation, but it does not frighten me, nor cause me "stress" to think that evolution may have been the mechanism that God brought life in all of its diversity to come forth. Correct me if I am wrong, but the Genesis account does say that the earth brought forth life as a result of the command of God. I think God made the earth to produce life. How all that works and fits together, is for smarter men/women than myself. I do enjoy to pondering and reading various thoughts about it.

If a person says to me "I am a believer", and yet believes in evolution, in any sense, I take their word and pass no judgement other than perhaps stating that I may disagree with their position.

Have a close friend who is a believer, and is just as strong on evolution. Super bright has two master's. One in biology, one in geology.
Other than his evolutionary views, his Christian views are very conservative. We never discuss the matter. It would do nothing but make both of us mad. :BangHead:

You are so right (if I read you correctly) there is no reason to have conflict between believers over this issue. I too, am very "conservative" (or so I think) some of my fellow "reformed" brothers may say different, but I consider myself quite conservative both theologically and politically.

ALL of us are saved by the Grace of God, that was solely due to Jesus being the atonement for our sins in full...

So regardless if holding to evolution or not...

Christ is the One who saves, NOT how we view this issue...

Would say also though that hard to see why a Christian would hold to evolution IF they also see God as the Creator!

Would say that science just has NOT done the job to prove the theory of evolution, as again, NO changes from species to species has ever been observed, and cannot see why we would go for darwin evolution, as it denies God created man in His own image!

They're competing creation stories. If there was anything over which to separate, it's this.

Micro-Evolution is a proven fact. Species evolve within species. Otherwise, all humans would look the same. All dogs would be the same breed. All fish would have the same structure.

However, I personally do not believe in one species evolving into another. I do concede that it is possible that there is evolutionary evidence due to an apparent age; however, I tend to disagree with that as well.
