Painted into a corner ? You are crazy.

I would think a military veteran would know the military term for "coward". I stand by it. If you can accuse people of hate without knowing their lives, then it fits quite well.

And even if it is off topic, I don't support ANY of our wars, and campaign quite profusely against them. I promote and support Libertarian candidates, at all levels, and it's because they are they only party committed to peace. And please, don't tell us Obama has his hands clean. We all know he's your guy.

CDM, you have just proven my point. Thanks.

What point was that ? That you supported a war mongering corporatist president that has continued, and expanded upon policies you used to rant against, and call people names for supporting ? Or that you have no basis to accuse people of hating the poor ?

I'm confused. What point did you make that I proved ?

Actually I was incorrect CDM. You proved several points I have made a number of times. Again, thanks.

Road construction
Road maintenance
Bridge construction
Bridge maintenance

Many roads ARE constructed and maintained by private businesses, and paid for privately.
Water purification in towns and cities
Is completely the purview of That Particular Town or City...I think you like to conflate local Government with Federal Government.....This is much like the liberal tendency to always appeal to "Police and Firemen" (good government) when trying to filch taxpayers into paying for some bloated Federal Program which has incidentally, nothing whatsoever to do with "Police and Firemen"....Ditto The Road construction and utilities which you list.
Do away with aid to utilities when they build new generation plants
Easily done, also States and municipalities already do this as well.
Garbage pickup
I pay for just such a thing in my area....It costs $45 every THREE months. How much does your local municipal trash pickup charge it's citizens every month?
Income tax collection
Are completely unnecessary and incidentally, Unconstitutional to boot. Do away with them.
Postal services
UPS...Fed EX? Anyone?
Subsidies to agriculture
Gone.
Subsidies to the sugar industry
Gone
Soil Bank program
Gone....Fired
Blind rehabilitation programs
Fired
Subsidies to lending industrial and business loans
Again...Pink-slip

Now let's talk all of your Well-fare programs.....
Gone, fired, unnecessary...Pink-slip.
Why? Because they CAUSE more poverty than they cure.

But what you are judging is one's concern for the poor by their desire to precisely do ONE THING...use the government to make SOMEONE ELSE pay for their wellfare. When my bleeding heart goes out to the poor, I send them to Rev's house...when Rev can't or won't give them money....I use government force to confiscate Rev's money against his will and hand it to the poor people instead. NOW THAT KOMRADE is genuine concern. :laugh:

The rub of discussions like this is that the communists (such as we entertain here on B.B.) do not begrudge your wealth or prosperity on behalf of the poor...
They begrudge your economic freedom on behalf of Government.

I'll list a few more Federal Government things we probably don't need:
The Robert C. Byrd Highway;
the Robert C. Byrd Locks and Dam;
the Robert C. Byrd Institute;
the Robert C. Byrd Life Long Learning Center;
the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program;
the Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope;
the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing;
the Robert C. Byrd Federal Courthouse;
the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center;
the Robert C. Byrd Academic and Technology Center;
the Robert C. Byrd United Technical Center;
the Robert C. Byrd Federal Building;
the Robert C. Byrd Drive;
the Robert C. Byrd Hilltop Office Complex;
the Robert C. Byrd Library;
the Robert C. Byrd Learning Resource Center;
the Robert C. Byrd Rural Health Center.

I believe that Robert C. Byrd was named after a bridge somewhere in West Virginia. Democrat that he was, he also was a Klan member in the halcyon days of his misspent youth. I am making fun of him for filching the taxpayer to pay for monuments to himself. :wavey:

And that my friend is Marxism and it is the very attitude that causes so much division and ill in this country.

I call it Christianity. To support war and be opposed to helping the poor is your "philosophy." Do you dare call that as the teaching of Christ?

Oh for cryin out loud just call him a racist and pretend you won the argument Crabby that's what all the trendy libs do now to end arguments and avoid questions.

Can you believe he tried to tie me to the "right-wing", and the "war culture" that he himself refuses to even acknowledge ? That holds as much truth as his accusations of hate. We're not dealing with a rational person.
