God is not a hypocrite either ! I would remember He commanded us to love even our enemy

That's the point.webdog said:God's killing was just. Murder is not "just" killing. Apples and oranges.

Amy.G said:This is one of the many verses that I could not grasp as a non-cal.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
If God is not willing that any should perish, why do any perish?
Why do we have to pray that Thy will shall be done? His Will cannot be done sometimes ! though He is Almighty God ! because human beings reject what Jesus offered. Is God's will not done? God's will is that all should come to repentance, yet not all come.
We have to check the contexts, but in most cases ALL means ALL in connection with the Salvation.Or do they? I believe the "all" in this verse refers to "all" those whose names are written in the Lambs book of life. The "all" that the Father draws. The "all" that will come because they have been drawn by the Father.
I'm not following. He commands us not to murder, and God Himself does not murder. We are commanded to justly execute people, as God does.Amy.G said:That's the point.

But God does do what He commands us not to do.
He can do that because He is God and we're not.
...and His Law is righteousness since it comes from Him...so what is your point? You believe He violates His own Lawlarryjf said:I actually cringed when i read this.
It is not His Law that is righteousness, but God Himself is.

wow! you not only mischaracterize the Scripture, but you also mischaracterize Calvinists. They are some of the most serious students of Scripture.standingfirminChrist said:Great post, webdog!
Some just can't understand the simplicity of the Gospel because of being ingrained with false teachings from preachers who don't study to show themselves approved unto God.
...and laziest when it comes to some of the more difficult texts. It's lazy, IMO, and easy to just confine God into a nicely packaged box of how He is supposed to be. Fact is the Bible teaches God's sovereignty, election, and man's free agency (and with no "wink, wink" after free agency).larryjf said:wow! you not only mischaracterize the Scripture, but you also mischaracterize Calvinists.
