A great book for new believers walking in the faith and Lordship of Christ is called Follow Me by David Platt or Desiring God by John Piper.

The books will help him get to the deeper meaning of the scripture on these issues. Being in the word is a given.

No; it is assumed, and assumptions are dangerous. Have you confirmed that he has a bible to test the writings of those two books against? If so, then just plainly tell us so; because you haven't actually said so yet.

Bob I replied to your message and my next check in 2 weeks I plan to send some books your way probably Follow Me by David Platt or Desiring God by John Piper, or even Changed into His Image by Jim Berg, or a book by James MacDonald. Not all books on christian growth are by Calvinist authors.

I also had a Wayne Grudem book in mind on basic Christian doctrine. I will pray and see what The Lord wants me to send. But no question he wants me to assist in growing people in the faith.
