2 Peter 2:1 (KJV) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Ken Ham, founder of the Creation Museum and Noah's Ark in Kentucky, as well as Bodie Hodge, writer and researcher for Answers in Genesis (AiG) website, and Dr. Georgia Purdom, a molecular geneticist for AiG broadcast live yesterday from the Creation Museum in a program called "Answers News" and discussed the false teaching of Andy Stanley.
The news program (beginning at the 4 minute mark roughly and ending at the 22 minute mark of the live broadcast recorded on YouTube and Facebook and linked below) played YouTube video of Andy Stanley so that you can see and hear for yourself. AiG listened to all of False Teacher Andy Stanley's teachings and had many members of the theological staff review his work.
1. Andy Stanley says that he believes in the Big Bang Theory in contradicition of Genesis and that when Scripture and Science disagree, Science wins.
2. Andy Stanlye says that the foundation of our faith is not the infallible Scripture but who is Jesus in history.
3. He says that once someone finds error in the OT and the Creation Myth (his words), they lose faith because if one part is wrong, it is all wrong. However, "the Bible did not create Christianity." "The resurrection of Jesus created Christianity." He talks about the historical fact of the resurrection but it is thought that he is not talking about NT evidence but ancient sources.
4. Bodie Hodge noted that 25% of the New Testament is quotations from the Old Testament.
5. Andy Stanley said, "Peter, James, and Paul elected to unhitch the Christian faith from the Jewish Scriptures." Andy Stanley also said that the Ten Commandments should be thrown out.
6. Andy Stanley then says that we must do what he is teaching to find a pathway of a relationship with Jesus and quotes Acts 15:19. Acts 15:19 (KJV) Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
7. Since Andy Stanley teaches a sort of easy believism, will anyone ever be martyred for such a faith as that devoid of the OT and the Ten Commandments? He says that man is made in the image of God, but that is from the OT, so his own message is filled with contradictions.
Acts 17:10-11 (KJV) And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming [thither] went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
My personal opinion is that Andy Stanley is cultic and teaches the cult of liberalism from his pulpit. My advice to people in his churches is to run, not walk, for the nearest door. No one should ever give Andy Stanley a penny.
