FBI: Over Four Times More People Stabbed to Death Than Killed with Rifles of Any Kind

The FBI Uniform Crime Report (UCR) for 2016 shows more than four times as many people were stabbed to death than were killed with rifles of any kind.
And because the category of rifles covers every type of rifle, this means there would be an even greater divide between the number of people stabbed to death versus those shot to death with an AR-15 or similar rifle.

According to FBI: UCR Table 12, there were approximately 374 people shot and killed with rifles of any kind. There were 1,604 people killed with “knives or cutting instruments.”

Where is the hue and cry for knife control? And what about truck control as jihadists like to drive trucks into innocent crowds?

In the UK, carrying any offensive weapon is illegal. Guns, Knives, Acid, Hammers, or w.h.y.[/QUOTE]

Actually, it is here too. Here in Florida, we are allowed to carry concealed weapons (with a permit) which includes more than just guns. But weapons are only "offensive" if YOU are the aggressor.
God even gave sheep horns...........

Know what I'm saying? Glad it's not illegal here...yet.

Not relevant. Sheep are animals, not Christians.

Christians are told to love their enemies, do good to those who hate you.
Luke 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
Sparrows have a beak which has its use in protection as well as feeding and if He cares more for us than sparrows then weapons are OK.

Loving our enemy and doing good has its limits.

a slap on the cheek is a not a life threatening situation.

What man would stand idly by and deny protection to his loved ones - if some one broke into his house and tried to kill or molest his family?

1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Yes, when somebody tries to break into my house or tries to harm my wife or one of my kids or grandbabies, and I have to use one of my weapons, it's my duty to do my very best to lovingly tell them about Jesus before they take their last breath. Jesus told the disciples to carry "swords" and in case you don't know, a razor sharp sword was a terrifyingly deadly weapon.

So, if someone broke into your home in the middle of the night to rape and murder your wife and children, you would do nothing to protect or defend them? What would you do to "do good" to them. Fix them a cup of tea while they raped and murdered your wife and daughters and sodomized and murdered your sons?

Most murders in homes in this country I would think are domestics.Usually by burning down the house of the ex and the children. Most others are knife crimes usually by drunks, or by disputes between drug dealers and users. We had about 600 murders and man slaughters last year.

Perhaps it would help if you used a more reliable translation.

Matthew 5:21 “You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’

The Greek word is φονευσεις.

That was judicial punishment, authorised by God..
  • Exodus 20:13Thou shalt not kill.
  • Deuteronomy 5:17Thou shalt not kill.
  • Romans 13:9For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

If it is OK to kill, it OK commit adultery, steal, bear false witness, covet;

Not so the word in thy is singular, you is plural.
