One more thing, the moderators allowed us to be called "racists" at the beginning of his campaign, when we WERE talking about his philosophy, his past connections, his marxist heroes....etc. That is not an attack on the moderators, it is an unarguable fact.

It is quite clear we cannot win, in some folk's eyes. We will be fought from several directions.

Did you even watch that video?

Yes.

That fellow took this document apart in seconds. If you would have listened, you cannot do this with a photocopy where all parts of the image are produced at once. This document was made in layers as easily demonstrated in Adobe Illuminator.

If you scan a document into a .tif file, convert the .tif file into a .pdf file using Adobe Acrobat, optimize the .pdf file, and then open it in Adobe Illustrator you will get layers.

Baloney. He released it today. See Mr. Cassidy's post.

I see this is, as one should expect, a hot topic so I'll put in my two cents worth. This is not a Birth Certificate! This is just the original of the same document he attempted to push off as his Birth Certificate in the beginning that started this request for the Birth Certificate!

This, the original document does go one step further than the copy he had posted before, it lists a hospital. There still remains nothing in the doctor's handwriting... his signature! Additionally, and this is politics, but, I read an interview with Trump a few days ago where he said that at the proper time he would reveal the documents his team in Hawaii had given him along with the documents from Indonesia and from Kenya that proved Mr. Obama was not born in the USA. Now... like I said, this is all a political show and I have no way of telling anyone anything except that if he is American by birth... as required by the Constitution of this country... Duhhhhhhhh! It's time to put up!

No. Not end of story. Sorry, but you don't intimidate me, Harley or no Harley. He has not lived up to his promise of being open & transparent, and his refusal to release a long-form is part of that broken peomise. The form he released in 2008 would not qualify one for a fishing liscense.

He's a liar. End of story.
And you are an idiot. End of story. I have held a US passport for almost 50 years and by short form birth certificate was all I needed to get them.

Where did the 'reasonable doubt' come from?

All of us have to show our birth certificates to the proper authorities, we don't have to show anyone who asks. Why did the president have to show his to the whole nation when none of us have to do that?

To prove to the citizens that he met the requirement of being "natural-born"...see below:

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica]Age and Citizenship requirements - US Constitution, Article II, Section 1
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.

I think we're all slightly bemused by this on this side of the Pond. There is the suspicion that 'birtherism' is but thinly-disguised racism...

I am sure that a extremely very small minority is using the "birther" issue to disguise the race issue - but for most - it is a Constitutional issue - an issues that has NEVER happened before (actual brithplace). It makes no difference to me if Obama is a Mulatto - it is his policies I disagree with. It is the Liberals who are trying to convince the world that race is the ONLY issue so as to take the emphasis off the real issues of policies

In the past - no doubt of the citizenship of any previous President was ever in question with two possible exceptions. If you remember, during the 2008 election it was brought up that McCain was born in the Canal Zone - as his father was serving in the US NAVY, overseas on official military orders. Also Barry Goldwater ('64) was not born in a "State" but a territory". The difference is that location was actually determined - just the actual interpretations of "natural born"

You seem to have missed the point. This has nothing to do with being skeptical of government. It has to do with people too stupid to recognize a legal birth certificate when they see one.

No point missed. What was released previously was not his birth certificate. What was released yesterday is proof of that. Why did BO wait? As one of the branches of government, one should be suspect of him and not take this whole thing at face value.

I still think it is wrong to call people retarded, stupid, etc because they question the validity of a statement being declared as fact when there is evidence to the contrary.

The name-calling that has has come from those of your view on this subject is telling.

Whatever for? Seriously, what is the point?

(Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard.)

Obama has to date refused to allow the release of his college records.

Trump is now asking for them.

Will Obama buckle under Trump's request for his college records like he did with the birth certificate?

Trump is making Obama look weak.

Yes, because the FBI and/or the CIA can't make a fake document that would fool a 20 year old. Sheesh!

What do the CIA and FBI have to do with this?

If the birth certificate is a fake I doubt that more than a couple of people would be in on it.

If it is a fake it would most likely be an Obama supporter in the records department where is mysteriously appeared.

Let us not forget that quite recently the Governor of Hawaii and the Hawaii Secretary of Human Services both said that it could not be found.

And it was also previously reported to have been destroyed by fire in 2001.

Well, we have Hillary Clinton to thank for "birtherism" since she is the one who created it during the primary.

Then again the Demoncrats do have a habit of creating nasty controversy like this to use against each other and then when it is picked up by Republicans they call it "racism".

Much like the "Wiley Horton" accusations.

So Obama sent a living breathing person by plane to Hawaii to bring back a .tif file of his birth certificate which the White House then converted to a .pdf file which was then posted on the White House website?

That seems quite odd - and unlikely. If I were to be sent in person to pick up a copy of a birth certificate, I would be expecting to receive a piece of paper. Not a file on a flash drive.

And now the name-calling. You were banned once, weren't you ?

I have a passport, as well, for 12 years, and I had to produce a stamped, notorized document. More than this guy has.

I am not so much concerned with where he was born, as I am concerned about his hiding his past from us. Thanx for the respectful question.

• If the original document was in a bound volume (as reflected by the curvature of the left hand side of the certificate), how can the green patterned background of the document's safety paper be so seamless?

The green is obviously from the copy. The original did not have the green pattern, but was plain. You can see pictures of it here:

• Why, if Obama was born on August 4, 1961, was the “Date Accepted by Local Reg.” four days later on August 8, 1961?
8-4-61 was a Friday, and the 8th was the following Tuesday. so that was really just two business days, and that does not seem to be a stretch.
• What is the significance of the smudges in the box containing the name of the reported attendant?
Looks just like a typical multiple marking of an "x" in the box.
• In the “This Birth” box there are two mysterious Xs above “Twin” and “Triplet.” Is there a sibling or two unaccounted for?
They're not in the boxes, so it looks like possibly someone checking off everything.
• What is the significance of the mysterious numbers, seen vertically, on the document’s right side?
Likewise, looks like some sort of office notes that probably had some sort of sequential meaning.

Perhaps check other birth certificates from the time to see if it has stuff like this on them. (But perhaps that will not be allowed).

• Finally, the “Signature of Local Registrar” in box 21 may be a desperate attempt at establishing the document’s Hawaiian authenticity. Note to forgers: It is spelled “Ukulele.”
I clearly see "Lee" (2 "e"s) at the end. It looks like the initials U K L Lee, (there is no "e" after the first L either; it's just the way the L's are written) do you really think they would make up a name like that? And the "K" might actually be an "I C". And the "U" might be a "V", since it's in script. So it would be "Vic L Lee".

Honestly, we're really grasping at straws here!
