I am surprised that you are unaware. There was a long discussion about this on the board not long ago.

LOL. Nowhere does this article say that the Governor of Hawaii could not find the birth certificate. It does say that the Governor understands that a copy does exist. Then WND goes on to suggest that the reason that he doesn't produce it is "perhaps because it doesn't exist"? That is the typical right wingnut innuendo in action.

Nor does the governor say he is looking for it (which WND alleges.) This is horrible journalism and a prime reason I usually dismiss anything WND publishes.

As to the report that the birth certificate was destroyed in a fire - that came from CNN.

Wow, 0 for 2. Nowhere is there any mention of a fire in this article.

If I am not mistaken, it was some Democrats that brought it up during the '08 primaries.

Yes, and quickly dropped it as being a non-issue. Who but Democrats running against Obama would have more motivation for wanting the birther issue to be true? Yet they dismissed it.

"Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie suggested in an interview published today that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health.

Abercrombie told the Honolulu Star Advertiser he was searching within the Hawaii Department of Health to find definitive vital records that would prove Obama was born in Hawaii, because the continuing eligibility controversy could hurt the president's chances of re-election in 2012. "

Not sure how you could miss this.

So were the Democrats who were the first to bring it up "racist" "retards" or "idiots"?

Not only this, but Tim Adams an election official whose job it was to verify voter eligibility signed a sworn affidavit in 2008 saying Hawaii has no long form record of Obama's birth.

But what is even more amazing is that he testified the hospital shown on Obama's BC has no record of him ever being born there!

Search Tim Adams election official birth certificate to find numerous articles confirming this.

The only folks who do not know these facts are those who are willingly ignorant.

For me it isn't about questioning his citizenship status so much as wondering why he resisted for so long to release the document?

And why the conflicting excuses along the way.

Also what does race have to do with citizenship anyway?

How does questioning citizenship equal racism?

Obviously the goal is to make people afraid to question anything about Obama for fear of being painted as a racist.

That is what WND published. Let's look at that and then look at the original source material that WND changed to fit their agenda.

WND Says:
Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie suggested in an interview published today that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist

Original Article, says:
(Abercrombie said there is a recording of the birth in the State Archives and he wants to use that.)

"It was actually written I am told, this is what our investigation is showing, it actually exists in the archives, written down ......What I can do, and all I have ever said, is that I am going to see to it as governor that I can verify to anyone who is honest about it that this is the case."

Also, nowhere does the governor say "he was searching within the Hawaii Department of Health" he said, "I am going to see...if I can verify"

See for yourself at:

very bottom of the article.

Playing the race card is a time-worn tactic used by the left. It's despicable.

They aren't facts. The WND article purposely distorts the actual words of the Hawaiian governor. Read the original article. Then tell me who's willingly ignorant.

http://www.staradvertiser.com/editorials/20110118_This_is_a_collaborative_endeavor.html

It's the last couple of sentences in the article.

You mean this statement?

(Abercrombie said there is a recording of the birth in the State Archives and he wants to use that.)

It was actually written I am told, this is what our investigation is showing, it actually exists in the archives, written down ...

Well, where is this WRITTEN document? Was the long form submitted yesterday a written document? No, it was typed.

Folks don't read with comprehension, you miss important details like that.

>The resident racist has finally chimed in.

Yes. I think that Chinese, Japanese, and Korean-Americans have a better social contract and a superior culture to white people.

Bill, could you please explain how the social contract and culture of Oriental people are superior to that of whites?

I simply don't understand why they didn't do this months ago. It would have diffused all this nonsense.

The Obama administration released the certified certificate that is usually used but that was not enough as in McCains case.

Why give a ridiculous issue legitimacy by offering anything more, would be my answer to the question but Trump, the leading Republican candidate, brought it to the fore.

On the other aspect of this, asking the question does not mean one is a racist but insisting on a long form birth certificate as no other candidate has had to produce to satisfy people, extends the issue of motives. And also after producing the proof of birth the same people that demanded the long form birth certificate now bring up other issues to attempt to undermine Obama's legitimacy.
I think the comment made that many people just cannot accept a legitimate black president is probably getting to the root of the frustration. That is racist. The birthers have pretty much proven that now.

What a steaming heap! Was it racist when it was asked of McCain? You do realize liberals are the ones to introduce this, right? What did Jesus say about a house divided?

Or is it conservatives "just cannot accept a legitimate" EXTREME LIBERAL President.

BTW, would a Black man who is a birther also be a racist?
