Nice try!
Point here is that JUST as with Cornelius, she worshipped Hebrew God, but HAD to have the Lord by His HS "wake her up" spiritually, that would allow her to hear and belive it...

What do you think would have happened IF God chose NOT to have "openned her" up to hearing the Gospel message?
1. Cornelius was a Roman Centurion; no females permitted. You have insulted this brave man.
2. You have no passage of Scripture that directly tells that God gave Cornelius faith. That is your Calvinistic presupposition. It holds as much water as the RCC doctrine of infants being baptized. For at the household of Philippian jailor the infants were baptized because "all households have infants."
3. He worshiped the Hebrew God, the same God that Saul worshiped that persecuted Christians and killed Stephen, and crucified Christ. To some extent it was a demonic religion by that time that opposed every aspect of Christianity.
4. It was his choice to receive or reject the gospel message. God opened his heart via the preaching of the Word. The Holy Spirit works through the Word of God. The power of the gospel is in the Word of God. He was not given faith. Faith is not a gift. The gift of God is salvation. The gift of God is eternal life. Get your facts straight.

Not one verse; only disparaging remarks.
Like I said--you lost this debate before you started. This is all that you can present.

I find it humorous that you can dish, but not take even a slight jab.

I've already supplied you with much Scripture in the past.

For instance, Romans 10:17? But you said the passage is not salvific as "proof" faith was not a gift. Yet it is a gift via the Word in the Gospel presentation, the faith there clearly a gift in order to believe.

Then you used the same passage of Romans 10:17, in an entirely different thread with someone else, and you stated the context was salvific there, :love2: to try and prove a feeble point you made within that thread.

That's the double standards you employ.

I called you on it. You've been eatin' a hush sammich about that since.

No need to keep sharing truth on this with you. Clearly you do err.

You are so entrenched in "contempt" against DoG that whatever verses we use to show you the truth is cast aside and discarded!
Again, both him and Lydia HAD to have God a prior salavtion work to open them both up to receive the Gospel message
Not address faith here, just that Bible clearly stating they need God to do special work on their behalf!

Code:

The Hebrew God IS the only true God! he is Father of jesus Christ!

Quite clear!

Does it say here that faith is a gift from God? Not in the least. Faith comes from hearing the Word of God. I have been in agreement with this from day one, and Calvinists have disagreed with me from day one. They say that apart from hearing the Word, faith is given as gift to the unsaved. If you agree with me on this point--that faith comes only by hearing the Word the of God, then you have changed your stance and have come to agree with the non-Cals. Congratulations!

Needless to say, there still is no verse to say that faith is a gift given to unbelievers.

The Word of God contains the Gospel.
The Bible says that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. One cannot argue with that. Hearing the Gospel (the power of God unto salvation) is what saves. The message that Christ has atoned for our sins leads one to Christ. It is Christ that saves. One cannot be saved without hearing that message in the Bible. Again, no sign of faith given to the unbeliever as a gift. This is the myth of the Calvinistic position.

I don't have a double standard. I have held to Romans 10:17 from the beginning which does not teach that faith is a gift to the unsaved. If you have retracted your position and now agree with the non-cal position, I am glad to see that. Keep on coming. We will pull you all the way over yet.

First of all that is not my quote. It is not what I said. Please re-post and separate my words from others so that we know whose words are whose.

think that you will have a hard time "pulling" us over to your camp, since we prefer to stay on the side of the Bible!

The only verse quoted to me was Romans 10:17. That is the verse that I have been using all along to show that faith is not a gift from God, but rather comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of God. So don't think that you can use it against me.

You have never posted one verse that says faith is a gift to the unbeliever--never!!

I never was debeating that point on this thread...

Point is that justvas cals say, Bible clear that unless God permits/allows/open up a sinner heart/mind to receive jesus, Gospel will not do the work of producing faith!

I was adress state before one hears the message!

Perhaps the child like faith He referred to is that of how we are in the new state of being born-again/ in theprocess of regeneration, not some faith akin to sitting on a chair, as you erroneously espouse? I'm not into, nor do I embrace easy-believism, nor do I accept your view here.

I've proven it to you as have several others with plenty of Scriptures, over and over, time and again. That would then leave your ideas as silly and a false rant.

Over and over you disagree with other's scripture, yet you don't explain except to say their view is wrong. I suspect it is because you cannot.

The problem is you try to fit scripture into the mold of Calvinism, something no one can do. It doesn't fit.
