In defense of Luke 2427, I believe his heart and motives are true in that he believes he has some beliefs to share that are very real to him. He has a zeal for God's word and wants us to understand it as it's been revealed to him. When it is not understood by the reader or challenged, he feels attacked, or that we think he is not genuine. His defenses or rebuttals might need refined with love, but we could all do with a little more love. Remember that Jesus had more truth and more reason than ANYONE to get His point across, but He NEVER GOT OFFENDED even to death. So I'll say it again and it applies to ALL OF US.
If you think someone offended you, forgive them. If you think they continually offend you, turn your cheek, and forgive them all the more. Give grace. Jesus was never offended in anything they did to Him, He said forgive them Father, they don't know what they are doing. The Christ in you is bigger than any offense, if you can deny yourself.
