The Bush administration failed to rein in the excesses that were taking place in Wall Street banks.

Did he also fail in reigning in the American consumers who leveraged themselves into this mess? That's what happened here. It had nothing to with Bush's tax cuts or lack of regulation. It had everything to do with a large segment of society living off too much credit and not real assets. It finally caught up to us.

I am discrediting this whole argument by noting the character of the person making these statements. This would be like me making an argument quoting President clinton. You would immediately throw it out. That's what I did.

This board, and particularly any questioning of this POTUS, has proved that libs are incapable of ever admitting that their hero is any less than super-hero; perfectly capable of the very feats you mentioned in the quote.

This is why we will never, NEVER get this country back on track by any hint of compromise with the left. They will never argue the real problems - just deflect so as to draw the rest of us off topic so their facade will remain intact to the dumbed/numbed down masses.

And since we now have a society that is so heavily latched onto the government teat, and the "teat" enablers are in power, nothing, repeat, NOTHING, (excepting the mercy of God) will be able to ever get us back on track before we become the liberal's HOLY GRAIL -- Socialist America, just like most of Europe.

Notice there are a few on here who admit to that goal!!!

president Bush has already taken us strongly in the socialist direction by nationalizing banks, insurance companies, and investment firms. That's a fact. So I suppose the republicans are responsible for making America socialist.

Hey, I am glad that folks have such unrealistic expectations of Obama. In 3 years when they find out that he cant actually walk on water, they are going to very disgruntled and hopefully this will help get a conservative back into the WH.

I'm only aware of one man who could walk on water and he was wholly divine. Why do you keep making these statements about worshiping Obama and him walking on water. I worship the true God not a politician. Isn't this supposed to be a Christian board?
