I agree KenH . You can't just demean one party without demeaning the other. In reality niether part really sticks solidly to there platform. GOP is just as un-Christian as the Dems.So lets call it a draw and say we are all a bunch of lieing hypocrites for supporting either a Democrat or a Republican.KenH said:

You're so quick to condemn this "unjust war" that you have no comment about life before we went into Iraq, do you? Or what would happen if we had simply taken out Saddam and left? Or if we had merely taken out the Al Qaeda operatives that were in Iraq? (which wouldn't have happened, because Saddam would not have agreed to allow us access to the areas where they were)
Or if we had merely mourned our loss, and done nothing?
Answer those questions, and then you can possibly talk about an unjust war with some sort of credibility.
Oh, and then, don't forget to add to it what we're currently doing for those 6 year-old children and 44 year-old women...and try looking beyond the sensationalist who's dying, and see the schools that have been re-opened for ALL children, not just the elite or the males; and the hospitals that are being kept open; and even the planning that's being done for the dam on the northern Tigris because it's fully expected to fail sometime in the next few years. And if the things YOUR soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coast Guard are doing to re-build that nation, on the orders of the current administration, aren't good enough, then stop crying about what's wrong and start telling us what we could be doing better.

No matter what the reason we went in for, or who was right or not, we cant leave there until it is finished. Obama knows this now, and that is why he is backing off of his 16 month withdrawl plan. As we get closer to the election, I expect that obama will get tougher in his talk about the war and start leaning towards finishing it instead of surrenderring Iraq to Iran.

Yes, some leaders of NOW and NARAL may have read the Democratic platform just like some leaders of Focus on the Family may have read the Republican Platform. There are over 200 million people of voting age in the country I doubt that more than 10,000 of them have read any sizable portion of either major party's platform.

Well, I'm gonna email the Republicans. Because this is a BIG issue for the strong Conservative Evangelical base of the Republican party and those who are deceived by Obama. Maybe Palin will hit it hard. You know, Biden is forbidden to take communion by the Catholic church, at least that was the last I heard, over his pro-choice position. It is a mortal sin for a Catholic to vote for a pro-choice candidate is what I read on some Catholic message boards. So, it's a bigger issue than what you personally may think.

I dont think the Dems really expect to pull out and leave Iraq to Iran, but they need the war as a political tool, and rallying against it is their best chance of getting elected. I dont for a second really believe that obama or Hillary could or would get us out any sooner that Bush or McCain.

Well I take what either McCain or Bush says with a grain of salt. Niether one can be trusted to tell the truth but then again I am not privileged to the same unreliable secret spy stuff that they have.ajg1959 said:

That's one reason we're there building the biggest most grand US embassy in the world to the tune of millions and millions. Fully supported by many who complain on the Hill, BTW. They spew what they think the anti-war people want to hear all the while beefing up their own portfolios, etc.
Obama can go on and on about us getting out. But it's really not his decision to make if he is elected. It's all rhetoric.
