Google Redefines The Word ‘Fascism’ To Smear Conservatives, Protect Liberal Rioters

The human gnome of sin can replicate itself from other members in the phylum into a Frankenstein of different members CTB. I suspect you know that.

CTB IMO this is going beyond partisanship. Those participating in the Berkeley riot for instance displayed a hatred for law and order itself. They are not left or right, conservative or liberal but of the antichrist, lawless.

Hank, I have no issue with what you said in this post. However, it is not on the topic. The article cited in the OP claims that fascism is left-wing. It isn't. It is right-wing ... always has been. Does this mean that all conservatives are fascist? No, of course not. Does it mean some are. Yes, some are. Not all left leaning people are Communist nor necessarily Socialist. Some are, some are not.

I wish writers would not write that which is not true in attempting to deflect attention away from their own political philosophies.

Agree?

Uh, I guess you missed the sign in one of the pics which said to "kill Trump".

That does not mean they are left-wing. They may be socialist or Communist, but they are not fascist.

Did you watch the lecture?

Yes, what I am saying is that there has been a 180 degree polarity change ALREADY.

I am very concerned now no more about political issues but global spiritual upheavals.

Again IMO there has been some kind of polarity flipping here, it's a phenomena.

In what way? I have no idea what your thinking is on this or how you can consider a right-winged political philosophy to suddenly be left-wing. Fascist and Communist have always hated each other.

The political philosophy has not changes.

Here is a list of 14 characteristics of fascism and it is definitely right-wing:

The 14 characteristics are:

  1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

  2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

  3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

  4. Supremacy of the Military
Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

  5. Rampant Sexism
The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

  6. Controlled Mass Media
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

  7. Obsession with National Security
Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

  8. Religion and Government are Intertwined
Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

  9. Corporate Power is Protected
The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

  10. Labor Power is Suppressed
Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

  11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

  12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment
Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

  13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

  14. Fraudulent Elections
Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

These characteristics could all be attributed to progressives as well. They have their own ideas of what 'Patriotism' really means. They are involved in cronyism every bit as much as any conservative. (Chelsea Clinton has a net worth of $15 million for example. For her brilliance and training?). Progressives are obsessed with crimes such as 'mini-aggressions', cultural appropriation, and climate skepticism. It could be said that Democrats oppress labor in their desire to continually import more and more foreign labor, with no consequences for those who come illegally. Controlled mass media - you cannot honestly think that conservatives control mass media, when 90% of Washington journalists vote Democrat. Progressives have their own scapegoats. Hillary described them as Deplorables. We see the far left calling for recounts, abolition of the Electoral College, an obsession with the Russians, and rioting in the streets when they lose.

I don't see any differences among socialistic dictatorships all of whom murder Jews.

The Non-Aggression Pact of August 1939 between Communism and Nazism shows that the two doctrines can co-exist and eat at the same trough. Also, today in fascist Argentina, you can see complete cooperation with Islamic Iran as well as with Communist Cuba and China. And there are other socialistic dictatorships in Latin America who are highly cooperative with communism.

Treaty was about the Nazi's securing Russia's non-interference in their invasion of Poland while the Nazi's look the other way as Russia takes over Finland. There was NO meeting of the minds on political philosophy.

Hitler and Stalin hated each other. It was simply politics. Germany did not want to worry about Russia joining the war against them and Russia certainly did not want to take Germany on. Both men were simply attempting to protect themselves.

The current debate generally means that the left wants the label of Fascism to stick to populists such as D.Trump. What applied in the 1930s to Mussolini and A. Hitler doesn't correlate to modern day populism. The most obvious difference is that fascist leaders of the last century held absolute dictatorial power over the population. Pres Trump does not have any more power than Obama did. Yes they have both used "a pen and a phone" but they have both been frustrated as often as they succeed.

You neglect to mention that the nazis and communists formed a pact, which was celebrated by American communists, which divided up Poland between them so that they did indeed eat at the same trough. Actually, the nazis trained in Russia after World War I so there was some agreement among them. At any rate, both involve socialistic dictatorships propped up by secret police, much like what is seen today in communist Cuba and Nicaragua as well as in fascist Argentina.

I had a line in my previous post about Russia and Germany carving up Poland but edited it out. They did the same thing with the Baltic states. This was not specifically written in the treaty but it was discussed and understood.

Still, "eating at the same trough" as you say does not equal philosophical equivalency.

Well, I concede that the communist are worse than anyone else. What they have in common is socialism, dictatorship, and persecution of Jews.

It does when the modern person exhibits the ideals followed by fascists in the past.

In the fevered imagination of modern progressives.

Simplistic sentences are not conclusive to rational discussion. To reply as you did simply shows that you disagree, but have no intelligent thought in your reply. Try answering is an intelligent, rational way. Thanks.

It is a given that if a person exhibits the attributes of a particular political philosophy then they are believers in that philosophy whether they realize it or not.

Trump holds positions that are the bedrock ideas of fascism. He may not realize that, but they are the same ideas. So it is not out of line to note this ... his belief in fascist ideas.

CTB, this is my problem with your position. My father and uncle actually fought against the Axis. Dad was in the CBI and Uncle Skip in the Pacific, though that was a matter of God's Providence. They could just as easily been in the ETO\North Africa.

So, I parse the use of Fascist and Nazi fairly strictly. I do not loosely use the terms. Nationalists and populists are not automatically F\Ns. Mussolini and Hitler were opportunists. Both of their platforms sought to bring "order" from chaos. So, they spewed forth rhetoric which took on nationalist and populist terminology.

But that was then and this is now. The street violence being seen bears a closer resemblance that of the black and brown shirts. These rioters are facing the police not the bully boys of an opposition party.

My point is, from what I've read of your positions over the years, you would paint me with the F\N brush. Because I take more nationalist and smaller government approach. However, let me assure you, under the proper circumstances, I'd take a pot shot at either.
