Its nuts to defend free speech and right to assemble in 2017? The KKK demonstrations would be meaningless if counter demonstrators did not show up. That gives them the attention they want. That makes news. The Klan uses legal speech to illicit illegal responses from counter demonstrators. If no counter demonstrators show up, the Klan qquickly goes home. I have seen it happen.

They came prepared and armed for violence. Spare me the peaceful protest garbage. Not even you believe that.

I side with the right to peacefully assemble and demonstrate. I don't care if its the Klan or the Panthers. The counter demonstrators sparked the violence. As I said, I have worked several Klan rallies. They always complied fully with the rules of their permit. The counter demonstrators always caused the problems. Smart people would have ignored them.

Peaceful assembly? Don't talk to me anymore if you can't be honest.

No one is saying that.

You're talking about all sides, again. Some folks representing all sides of this equation showed up showed up with the express purpose of causing trouble. Your attempts to make one side worse than the other are gonna fail. There were NO good intentions from anyone.

I am armed and prepared to defend myself against violence. The left wing counterprotesters played right into th tactic of the Klan. The Klan legally incites. The counter demonstrators illegally respond. It is the M.O. of the Klan.

Their assembly is legally considered to be "peaceful assembly." Maybe you should learn something about how our Constitution operates. Do you think I enjoyed working their rallies? No. No, minority officers were strategically picked by the departments for the security at their rallies.
Is the Klan throwing rocks, burning cars, flipping over police cars? No, they let black lives matter do that.

They were armed terrorists. Let's call a spade a spade and not dress it up as something else. My grandfathers fought against Nazi scum like them 75 years ago.

The Constitution protects them. I am not defending them, I am defending their rights. They lose theirs, you lose yours.

Umm there were Nazis and the KKK and the people that showed up to protest them. Good for them. I'd prefer it had been Conservatives counterprotesting as opposed to antifa but as usual conservatives continue to stare at their navel. I have no problem not equating those too. This entire thread is 90% blaming the left and people apologizing for the right. My church started the morning by condemning the alt right. I appreciated that.

GOP senators are condemning them as terrorists. I'm a fan of owning issues so as to solve them. I appreciate them actually having the cajones to say it. Unlike our President. These morons think Trump is their guy. It would be awesome if he kind of squashed that wouldn't it? Let's make it clear to white supremacists that. Conservatives don't support you.

Yeah. I'm gonna stand by what I said. I refuse to take a side on what happened yesterday. I condemn all the violence.
No one said they did but if you are subscribing to the peaceful protest mindset then you aren't being honest with yourself.
Here I thought you could actually read. I think you may not be completely honest with yourself.

Antifa exists because no one else is opposing the revival of white supremacists. You can take the cop out "violence is terrible attitude" while patting yourself on the back for your courageous virtue signaling but it is an empty statement.

I can read just fine Curtis.

I remember when the KKK would come each year to Pulaski TN. Most of the business owners would close up shop and they would protest to an empty square. I don’t know if they even bother anymore.

@Reynolds is right. The Klan legally incites. What keeps them going is the reaction of others to their brand of evil. I'm not saying to ignore them, but problems seem to occur when one side wants to deprive the other of what is actually protected under our Constitution.

Peaceful demonstration from a legal point. The Klan is very dishonest from a moral point, but legality is the point in question.

Sure they show up under the auspices of peaceful protest but we all know that is the furthest thing from their mind.
