Asked and answered. No. Total Depravity has nothing at all to do with mankind being created in the image and likeness of God. Our fallen nature is the consequence of Adam's sin (and, of course, ours too).
When God created man (Genesis 2:7) He did something for man He did not do for any other of his creation. He breathed into mankind His breath of Life. The result is that man has not only a physical, material, body, as do all those in the animal kingdom, but we also have an immaterial soul/spirit.
Having been made in the image and likeness of God simply means that God made us to resemble Himself, Who is Spirit. We, like Him, can live without a body. Because of this creative resemblance, we are rational, volitional beings. We can think, reason and choose. This is a reflection of God’s intellect and freedom. In that we are unique among all of earth's life forms, which live, not by reason, intellect, and rational choices, but by instinct and reaction of stimuli.
The fall did not negate our reason, intellect, or ability to make choices. Our reason is now bent away from loving God, but it is still there. Our intellect is bent away from believing God, but it is still there. Our choices are bent toward rejecting God, but they are still there.
Sorry for the lecture, but you brought out the old Seminary Professor in me. #triggered
