Jimmy C--your plan sounds balanced. It's close to one of the Weight Watchers programs. I've been a lifetime member of WW and lost 25 lbs. in 1989 and have kept most of it off. I am healthier in my 40's than in my 20's. I exercise 45 minutes to 1 hr per day 6 days a week. I get up in get it done in the morning.
Sensible balanced meal plan--includes <gasp> good carbs, veggies/fruit, protein, healthy oils

Those things are the keys--not some fad diet that will may you lose fast --only to gain it back.
I love being in good shape--it helps me w/the ministries God has for me to do. I just added a spin class 2 evenings a week. I want to build my endurance. I am hoping dh and I can go on a construction missions trip to Hawaii in February or March. I don't want to poop out--but be like the Energizer Bunny. lol
