You avoid dealing with your bipolar theology.
I am sure you won't deal with post 77.
Now how does you snuggling up with your weapon like the Israelites snuggled up with their idols translate into me having a bi-polar theology?
At this point you're just casting accusations against a wall without purpose.

Austin, have you ever started death in the eye? Have you ever had someone try to kill you? Have you ever fought for your life with someone trying to kill you and barely held on by the slimmest margins?

Can God protect kids from guns?
Can God heal? Do you go to Dr?
I am sure you won't answer. You will continue to avoid the questions.
Your idol is fear. You are too much a coward to defend yourself and you want the govt to do it for you.

Clinical psychologists estimate 3-5% of the population is sociopathic.

Some criminal psychologists, from 100 plus years of penal history, estimate 1 out of 3 of the incarcerated population are sociopathic, and, 1 out of 3 of the non-incarcerated population are sociopathic. With most it takes something to 'rock their boat' for the sociopathy to become apparent.

Wow, talk about tossing things against the wall without any reasoning.
Yes, God can protect kids from guns, just as God can protect an unsupervised toddler from walking off a cliff or wandering into a lake. That fact doesn't give you leave for negligence.

Yes, God heals. He could heal a gunshot would if He chose, but I wouldn't tempt God by leaving loaded guns around for kids to pick up and play with.

Yes, I go to the doctor. My flesh is cursed from the fall.

There, I answered your questions, for whatever it's worth.

So you use tools God gave us for healing, such as Doctors and medicine, but you refuse to use the tools He gave us to defend ourselves.
When dealing with Pneumonia, you don't just sit back and wait on God to do it all; you use the physical mechanisms He gave us. When it comes to self defense, You have a totally different standard.

All humans are just one God ordained allowance away from acting as a psychopath. A person here at the BB who sleeps with his guns could be a psychopath before the day is done, if God so commanded.
We cannot keep separating people as us verses them. We are all them, except by the grace of God. Pray God is gracious.

....as I said, your preachy sanctimonious lecturing is repugnant to me, though I've no doubt that AustinC is a BB legend and a sage in his own mind.

You have to understand that the extreme right posters don't know what they are talking about and are just acting out because they value their radical independence over everything else. (The Bible calls this idolatry.)…."
Please cite the scripture where “radical independence” is called idolatry?

peace to you

You ever sat across an interview table from a psychopath serial killer?

Who knows. I have interviewed a number of people. One of them may have been a psychopath serial killer. I live in a big city. I may have walked by many killers. I go into the county jail and share the gospel, I am sure I have preached to murders.
I'm not sure what your point is.

I don't have to.
This passage can apply.
Matthew 6:19-24

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rustdestroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Or this:
Philippians 2:1-4

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Or this:
Proverbs 21:13

Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

Do you need more?
God did not call us to dive into a bunker and hide what He has given us.

Matthew 25:14-30

“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servantsand entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents,to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Do you think you are incapable of sinning horribly? Peter thought the same thing and 3 hours later Satan sifted him.
We are one decision away from wickedness.
What you call me is irrelevant. What God tells us about our sinful nature is what matters.
