Do you know how to keep a liberal in suspense?

How may of you have had a black person as a house guest? I have.

I find this to be very amusing.

Are you aware of how condescending you sound?

That you are so righteous as to allow a (gasp!!!) black person to actually enter your home??!!!

A fine example of liberal racism - disguised as moral superiority.

What if we don't keep track of the race of those who stay in our homes? Jeepers - I can't even tell you how many people LIVED with us - not just as houseguests. I know there was one guy who was an annoying Italian and another who was a really nice Sicilian. Then we had a young girl who I'm not sure what her racial make-up was but her mom was a new believer who was quite butch. Then there were the Chinese students. Ummmm - Oh - and there was a Californian who ate us out of house and home. Then of course there was my dad - an Irish cop. Does that help?? Black? Oh wait! Yeah! When my girls had sleep overs, their friends stayed who were black!

So there you go - some Italians, Chinese, black, Irish and a Californian. :D

I wonder if black people question each other whether they've had a white person as a houseguest?

Q- Why won't Reverend Jeremiah Wright eat caviar?

A- He heard you are supposed to eat it with crackers.

But nobody from Upstate? Maybe Salty was on to something.

Now, now!! I've not had an upstater stay at my home but I've stayed at an upstate camp which is FULL of upstaters!! In Corinth! Does that count?? I even ate out of the same 1/2 gallon ice cream container - right from the container! Does that help???

Hey, wait a minute, I think I can one-up everyone...

I am white and I was a house guest at a black man's home!

Of course he and I are brothers in Christ and were members of the same Baptist Church.

Why don't you just answer his question?

Being cute is not being wise nor does it show any thinking. I guess sophomores like these kind of cutie answers.

Because the premise has been destroyed. Post #35 is especially brilliant.

Let's play a game, folks, called "Count the Races".....just get a checklist by yer door, and fill in the box next to the minority you "allow" into your home. The winner gets to put up the longest post in a thread about it. Keep close score, the liberals, (who claim not to be able to see race  ), are watching you.

What a bunch of puffed-up boastful garbage this thread is. I am stunned.

No, just another off the topic reply. Lots of those in this thread.

Nope. It's directly on-topic. You just cannot justify your looking at race, first. You actually count the races. Sanctimonious, if'n you ask me.....

You guys look silly. You should just let this one go.

Crabtownboy - Why are we labeling people by their race when so many of us don't see that in a person? I don't see people as black or white to be my friends - I see their heart. THAT is what makes a difference to me. So why concentrate on how many blacks slept in our house?

Allow me to answer.
What's it to you?
Why does it matter?

BillWald: "I have."

Well, don't you feel superior.
(Notice that that was not a question.)
Get a life.
Just Christian/Alatide/SuperiorThanYou just said she had a twin in another thread.
Are you it?

Simply because that is the question that was asked in the op of this thread.

I feel it would have been a better question to have made the question broader and have included all ethnic groups. But the question was restricted to one group. That being so, why not just answer the question?

Why are you so obsessed with race?

I for one will not answer the question because I find it to be racist and insipid.

Why do old the white guys assume that everyone else on the board is white?

Actually I'm not. But a simple question was asked and many refuse to answer. Refusing to answer is all right. Answering the question is all right. Answering 'yes' or 'no' does not indicate racism or a lack of racism. It is simply an answer. To some extend it depends on where a person lives, that is in some places there are few or no African Americans whereas in other places there are many. If there are no African Americans in an area, say like where my friend in Vermont lives, it is much more unlikely that an African American has stayed in his house than in a city like Washington, DC or Baltimore.

Why was it racist? Would it have been racist if the question has asked "Has an oriental stayed in your home?"

Why do old the white guys assume that everyone else on the board is white?

I do not assume it, nor did I ask the question. I would have asked it differently ... a much broader question.

The question assumes that the reader is not black.

The addition of "I have" after the question smacks of moral superiority. The author of the OP thinks that he has done something exceptional or special because he has stooped to allowing a black person in his home.

I do not assume it, nor did I ask the question. I would have asked it differently ... a much broader question.

I am skeptical.

I recall you repeatedly telling me to "ask your African American friends" about their opinions of the state of race relations.

This would indicate that you are assuming that I am not black.

Will it make you happy if in the future I say my Chinese friends, or my Estonian friends, or my Russian friends, or my Serbian friends, my Lithuanian, my Scottish friends, my Ukrainian friends -- etc., etc.

This would indicate that you are assuming that I am not black.

Never assume.
