What you call the "social justice gospel" is what Jesus taught. You don't want to hear these words do you?
Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Mat 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
Mat 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Mat 25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of the least of these, ye did [it] not to me.
Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Here Jesus is talking about feeding the poor, clothing them, giving them medical help and visiting those in prison. I think you would call these things part of the "social gospel" wouldn't you? Doing these things does not save you but all those who are saved exhibit this kind of behavior.
Sorry bro... I won't be baited by someone who is either incapable of good hermaneutics or is intentionally making the Bible say what they want to hear... both of which lead to theological error.
What I will say is this... yes the church of Jesus Christ has always had a responsibility to meet the physical needs of people (church members first, then outsiders). That however is not the primary role or purpose of the church. The primary task of the church and EVERY Christ-Follower is to make disciples... period. In fact, the physical meeting of needs has historically been the primay method of opening the door to meet the more desperate spiritual.
If all the church is to be is a charity, then we will be feeding, clothing, and sheltering folks that will eventually be spending an eternity in hell.
Social Justice is not the gospel of Jesus Christ.
