How Old Was Adam????

That is exactly what I said! We do not know! That brings into question the argument of Old Creation verses New Creation.
Oh!!! Why didn't you just say so in the first place!

As far as Cain and Abel being born when Adam was 128 and 129, that's impossible.

Seth was born to Adam when Adam was 130. Abel was already dead. Cain and Abel had already grown up, been old enough to make sacrifices to God, and one killing the other.

Eve said that God has appointed Seth as a replacement for Abel who was dead.

As far as my suggesting Cain and Abel being twins, I have no hidden agenda. I was comparing their births to other births in Genesis . Maybe they were and maybe they weren't.

I said nothing about triplets and female siblings. You said that based on something you read

I was not reading something into the Bible that I wanted.

Well, think about this.

All I can say is what the Bible says.

The Bible says in Genesis 4:1 that Adam and Eve had marital relations, and she conceived and she bore Cain. Genesis 4:2 says that she bore again. and had Abel. That's twins.

One conception, two births = twins.

Genesis 25 - Jacob and Esau - ONE conception, two births. Twins.

Genesis 29 - Leah, the unloved had six sons with Jacob - SIX conceptions directly stated and six sons.

Genesis 38 - Judah and Tamar only slept together once. One conception. Two births. Twins.

It's quite possible that Cain and Abel were twins. And maybe they weren't. But it makes you think.
Insightful! Thank you!

If Eve was with child when God created her - then Cain (& possibly Able) would have been born free of sin. Thus the first Sin of Adam & Eve would not have been passed on to Cain until he (they) would have sinned themselves. Thus it is inconvincible that Eve was PG with Cain.
Would Cain or Abel have been born free of sin if Adam knew Eve before she brought forth the one of which she created with out of Spirit?

If she was created with child, granted the child in her generated out of Spirit would have been Holy. Just as it is stated of Jesus in Matt 1:20

But the sign would always have been, a virgin shall be with child and [ understood, a virgin] would bring forth.

BTW this will be the last I say about this. The only reason I brought it up is because; Virgin, childbirth definitely [because of sinlessness] has something to do with redemption and I find it interesting that because Prov 30:20 associates eating and sex that Satan might have adulterated
the first to be born by deceiving Eve into having Adam lust her before bringing forth her first born. The need for redemption. Thus the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Consider; Redemption through the blood of Christ had been foreordained before this in the garden took place.

Consider also if the answer is, Yes to the following question, "Did Satan the devil already need to be destroyed before Adam was created," ?
How was God going to destroy him?

Heb 2:14 Seeing, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, he himself also in like manner did take part of the same, that through death he might destroy him having the power of death -- that is, the devil --

God was going to destroy the devil through death. Where was death going to come from? Does redemption have anything to do with death?

Scientists claim that there will soon be a 25 hour day because entropy. The earth is slowing down. Well, some “scientific” journalist says soon. I can’t find anything reporting less than 200 million years in the future. It brings new meaning to the word soon.

Scripture says that Adam begot Seth when he was 130. Seth was the 3rd child. I was assuming that Eve was pregant with Cain for 1 year and Abel 1 year. Assuming that to be the case then we come to 128.

I just wonder why it took all of those years to start a family OR is there another meaning here for that time frame maybe a very long time.
As Seth recorded as "in place of Abel" might be the reason why it takes 130 years for Adam and Eve to beget Seth. Cain and Abel would have been matured enough to offer their increase to the Lord. And at after Abel's death, a replacement was born, named Seth.

Gen 4:25 Adam had relations with his wife again; and she gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, for, she said, "God has appointed me another offspring in place of Abel, for Cain killed him.

3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:
4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. - Genesis 5

I tried to chart the genealogy. I have Lamech passing away five years before the flood.

Jewish Calendar - How to explain the difference of exactly 240 years in the Jewish calendar?

The Jewish calendar is the type of calendar the Jewish people use for counting time and commemorating birthdays, festivities, weddings, deaths, religious celebrations and other solemnities. According to the Hebrews, the years are counted from what they believe to be the creation of Adam.
Created over 3,000 years ago, the Jewish calendar is based on the movements of the Moon and the Sun, and is therefore a lunisolar calendar. In this way, months are counted from the lunar cycles, and years from the solar cycles. Therefore, years can range from 12 to 13 months, with 29 or 30 days.

But I would like to say that since the origin of the Jews is biblical (by the way, salvation comes from the Jews-John 4:v.22), thus, it is incomprehensible this difference of 240 years of the Jewish calendar in relation to the Biblical Chronology.

In my studies based in the Word of GOD, the source of the Truth, on GOD's six Days of creation and one Day of rest (a total of seven days) plus the Scriptures that teach that one Day is with the Lord as a thousand years (Psalm 90:4; 2Pet.3:8; Heb. 4:4)so MANKIND,yeah, MANKIND, would go through six GOD Days of 1,000 years each ->(a total of 6,000 years) plus a Millennium of 1,000 years rest (now a total of 7,000 years). Actually, Genesis is a Plan of GOD to restitution or restoration of all things->Acts 3:17 to 26-, according they were in the garden of Eden.

That said, in accord biblical Chronology, we can number our days beginning in Genesis chapter 5, as follow:

Adam lived …......................................................................130 yrs and begat Seth
Seth lived ………………………………………………...….........105 yrs and begat Enosh;
Enosh lived ...........................................................................90 yrs and begat Kenan;
Kenan lived............................................................................70 yrs and begat Mahalalel;
Mahalalel lived .........................................................;...........65 yrs and begat Jared;
Jared lived ...........................................................................162 yrs and begat Enoch;
Enoch lived ...........................................................................65 yrs and begat Methuselah
Methuselah lived...............................................................187 yrs and begat Lamech;
Lamech lived ......................................................................182 yrs and begat Noah;
From Noah´s birth until the Flood..............................600 yrs.
Total of years from Adam to the Flood =.....-...-.1,656 years.

SIX PERIODS OF BIBLICAL TIMES --------------- DURATION

I - From Adam to the Flood---------------------1,656 years
II - From the Flood to Abraham------------.------427 years
III - From Abraham to Exodus-----------.---------430 years-Gal.3:17
IV - From Exodus to king Saul --------------------396 years
V - From Saul to the fall of Jerusalem -----------.508 years
VI - From the fall of Jerusalem to Jesus ------.---.587 years
Thus, from Adam to the 1st coming of Jesus ...4.004 years
From Jesus to our days (Christian Calendar)---.2,025 years

Total from Adam to our days -------------------6.029 years

VII
- The seventh and last period begins now, in this current millennium, the seventh and last millennium, or seventh and last Day, the Lord's Day.The kingdoms OF THIS WORLD are become the kingdoms of our Lord,and of his Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever. Revelation
11:15 combined with Luke 20:35-36, and Revelation 5:10, among others.

REVELATION 11:15-18kjv
15 ... The kingdoms OF THIS WORLD are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.

16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before GOD on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped GOD,

17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord GOD Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.->(1Corinthians 15:24-28 and 51-55 combined with Philippians 3:20-21; Romans 8:18-19 and 1John 2:28)

18 And the nations were(will be) angry, and thy wrath is come(Isaiah 26:19-21, take a look, combioned with Romans 2:5-11), and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Yes.....Adam and Eve were Created full grown adults. I realize that is an assumption because there are NO scriptures to prove that.
I base my opinion on the fact that Eve was able to pick fruit and talk to Adam on the 1st day they were created.

IMHO.......all of us in the New Heaven and New earth will be the same age there as we were here on earth at death or the Rapture.

ALL aborted babies are in heaven today. They will IMHO then grow into adulthood.
So if we die at age 90, we will be 90 in heaven for all eternity?

That sounds horrible!

Adam was a fully mature and viable human man the day that God created him out of the dust of the earth. We typically regard someone to be fully grown at around 18 and there are some other maturity factors (growth of skull bones, etc) that may put Adam as being physiologically anywhere between 20-30 years on the day that God had created him. Then again, we do not know what a 20-30 year-old man may have looked like during the Antediluvian period when the average life expectancy was 900+ years. What did a 900 year-old man look like and what did a 130 year-old man and woman look like as someone who had just given birth? How long did someone have reproductive virility with such a lifespan? We read that Noah was 500 years-old when he begat Shem, Ham, and Japtheth but we do not know the age of Noah's wife so how long did a woman remain capable of child-bearing during that time? It is a certainty that Eve was well over 100 when she gave birth to Seth.

The scriptures say that Adam was 130 when he begat Seth but the difference here is that Adam had never experienced childhood or adolescence as did their offspring. Adam was a mature adult male the entirety of his life and Eve was a mature adult female here entire life.

It is not recorded as to when Adam and Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel but based upon Eve's reaction, I believe that they eagerly received Cain as they were also expecting the fulfilment of Gen 3:15 although they were not certain as to how such should take place. One of her offspring would break the curse of sin and perhaps it would be Cain? Of course we understand that it was not as did Adam and Eve.

Genealogies are always jumping around and I believe such is the case in Gen 4. Cain and Abel were obviously adults (or at least teenagers) by the time they both presented offerings to the Lord. Their age is not specified nor is there any sort of a timespan between when Cain's offering was rejected and when he slew Abel. It may have been days, weeks, years, or even decades! Was Cain already married or did he find a wife several years afterward? All we know is that Cain knew his wife after he was in the "land of Nod" and from here we see the genealogy (six generations) of Cain except that once again, no span of time is actually given here. Perhaps Lamech lived long enough to see the great flood?

Even in the 21st century, it would be difficult to squeeze six generations into 130 years and I would say (speculate) the time between Abel's murder and Seth's birth was likely no more than 60-70 years. Who knows, it may have been as recent as the very next year? In other words, I would read the narrative in Gen 4:16-24 as being the summary of Cain's lineage leading ultimately to the flood and with vs. 25, the author back-tracks to an earlier time closer to the death of Abel where Seth's birth is recorded.

So if we die at age 90, we will be 90 in heaven for all eternity?

That sounds horrible!
90 in a perfect, sinless, glorified body would be far better than any athletic 20-something in this present sin-cursed day and age would it not? I am betting this 90 year-old man in his glorified body would be able to out-tackle, out-run, out-fight, and out-work any College aged "whippersnapper" in this present day and age would he not?

Are you aware that the bones in a human skull never stop growing? Think about this when we consider what a 900 year-old Adam may have looked like!

I believe that with age also comes distinction whereby we look up to our elders with due reverence and respect. Can we have such "distinguishment" without being decrepit and geriatric? Will we all look like "teenagers" or 20-somethings for all of eternity? We have the description of Jesus in Revelation as having hair that is "White like Wool" which is certainly different from what he looked like after his resurrection right?

What of those who died in infancy and never got to experience growing up having the love of a father, mother and so forth? What of those who were childless and never got to enjoy the joys of parenthood? Randy Alcorn addresses some of this in his book "Heaven," and some of what he says sounds plausible but we will not know until that day comes!

I do not want a resurrected body that is bald, has wrinkled skin, and looks old and decrepit.

Babies who died will likely be 20 or 30 years old in heaven, like the rest of us.

I doubt we will care about experiencing parenthood in heaven. We will be thrilled with being with the Lord.

I do not agree with all that Randy Alcorn says about heaven.

Genesis 5:3 says Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born, after Cain killed Abel.

Because Seth was born after Abel’s death and after Cain’s exile, Cain and Abel must have been born sometime before Adam was 130—but the text does not narrow it further.

Now the question is.......How old was Adam when He was Created? "ALL" theologians describe Adam as “apparent age”—meaning Adam looked like an adult from the first moment of his existence.

However, there are NO Scriptures that tell us Adams age or time elapsed before he Begat Seth.

As my dad would have said; Adam was old enough to know better but to young to resist.

Neither do I but he gives some good perspectives.

I do not believe we will have a "static" existence in the age to come. We will continue to grow in knowledge and wisdom and will never become bored or complacent!

And we certainly will not be old and decrepit!
Now, at the turn from the sixth to the seventh and last Day, or seventh and last millennium, what matters is the Eternal Life, as our Lord JESUS PROMISED FOR US, and confirmed this in Matthew 25:29-30.
Adam died when was 930 years because he did eat of the tree of good and evil, a demonic and mortal mix offered by the MAN of sin-> Genesis 2:17 combined with 3;22 and 3:1-11, take a look. JESUS is the tree of Life.

John 6:

24 When the people therefore saw that JESUS was not there, neither His disciples... they came to Capernaum, seeking for JESUS.
25 And when they had found Him on the other side of the sea, they said unto Him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

26 JESUS said: Ye seek me because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
27 LABOUR not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto EVERLASTING Life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for Him hath GOD the Father sealed.

28 Then said they unto JESUS: What shall we do, that we might work the works of GOD?
29 JESUS said unto them:-> This is the work of GOD that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent.
30 They said unto JESUS; What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

32 JESUS said unto them, Verily I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33 The bread of GOD is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth Life unto the world.->(See what the angel of the Lord said: John 3:31)
35 And JESUS said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last Day. -> (THE CURRENT SEVENTH AND LAST DAY, OR SEVENTH AND LAST MILLENNIUM->SEE POST #73 ABOVE)

40 And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have EVERLASTING life: and I will raise him up at the last Day. (It will happen literally even now in this current seventh and last Day->Daniel 12:1-3 and 1Thessalonians 4:16).
41 The Jews then murmured at him, because JESUS said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

42 And they said, Is not this JESUS, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that He saith, I came down from heaven?

43 JESUS said unto them:-> Murmur not among yourselves.
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last Day.(7th current Day).
45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of GOD. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of GOD, he hath seen the Father.->(MATTHEW 11:27 combined with JOHN 1:18, take a look),

47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath EVERLASTING Life.->(1Corinthians 15:51-55 and Philippians 3:20-21)
48 I am that bread of Life.

49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a MAN may eat thereof, and not die. ->(1Corinthians 15:51-55 combined with Philippians 3:20-21).

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: If any MAN eat of this bread, he shall live for ever->(TREE OF LIFE):
and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the World.
