Yes, and it was very spooky as his complexion changed as he slumped from the chair onto the floor.
I have one cousin in particular who is pure evil. If you allow any weakness with her, any sensitivity then she will mark you and work you till she kills you.

This applies to both demonized people/animals (those possessed by a spirit of evil, normally called demons or devils), and demonic attacks on yourself as a believer (who cannot become possessed but can become influenced by demons with thoughts of negativity, hate, sexual lust, etc. etc.)

In my experience and what I have read in my Bible, there are a number of ways to discern when a demonic presence is active around you.

For the Demonized, here are some ways to tell that this person is suffering from demonic spirit(s):
  1. Denies Christ as having come in the flesh Scripture Support: and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. (1 John 1:3) This would also include refusing to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord, but mainly it means that the demons do not trust in Jesus as their LORD and SAVIOR and do not acknowledge him as their master.
  2. Displaying utter hatred and/or fear toward God. Statements such as saying 'Your God is trying to destroy me.' (From personal experience working in a maximum security prison I have seen a demonized man say this on camera while he was in a confined cage) Other things like cursing and swearing in God's name is a sure sign they are either demonized or being influenced by demonic spirits. Likewise they will also display great fear and fright toward God and fear death of the body they are possessing since after their vessel is dead they are likely sent back to Hell Scripture Support: And behold, they cried out, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” (Matthew 8:29) Due to the demons having this hatred and great and trembling fear before God, they cannot hide their hate or their fear of Him and will often times say this a lot, especially in front of a believer who they probably think is going to cast them out in Jesus' name.
  3. Use scripture wrongly. This is a big one. ESPECIALLY when they are talking with a believer or to an unbeliever who is asking about God or some such thing. I believe a demonized person can twist scripture by any means, by talking, by writing, by anything that we interpret. They will always misuse scripture, they will either take it out of context, add a different context that doesn't apply, add their own "wisdom" to scripture or just completely misuse it. I've had a demonized man quote verses perfectly to me but apply the scripture out of context. All demons know the Bible and what it says, and that is why they are so, SO crafty and that is why we as believers should memorize scripture, study it, put it on our hearts, that is why now I am asking the Lord to help me put the scripture in my head and heart so I will be ready to rebuke and correct these spirits and have them flee before the Truth of Christ- just as Jesus did with Satan in the desert. Scripture Support: Luke 4:1-14 + Matthew 4:1-11
  4. Supernatural Knowledge of a Person, Place, Thing, Language and/or Special/Supernatural Talents not before known by the demonized person. According to various reports from people who have interacted with a demonized person, the demon(s) often know things about you and others. They are a spirit and can read thoughts and get their information from other demons and they have been around since the beginning so why wouldn't they be able to know things about you, your friends and family? They know our weaknesses and use them against us and the person they are in to keep control and wreak havoc and destruction. The demon will know everything about who they are possessing and will even tell you how they were able to enter that person if you ask them as a believer. They will also know other languages, usually Latin, and this is normally heard as blabbering and muttering and sound like 'crazed talk' but it's really just them talking in another language, one you probably don't recognize and cursing and taunting you with it. Likewise, demons often provide the demonized person with new abilities, such as great strength (demonized people who are under the influence of drugs often enhance their strength, and experts will tell you it's due to the drug but its' really due to the demon gaining more control of the person's mind and body). They might display talents like illusions and card tricks, very RARE cases they could even levitate but I have not personally witnessed that. I am convinced due to this reason that a lot of your mediums, spirituals (like monks) and magicians are influenced by demonic help. You will notice too that demonized people tend to be VERY charismatic and charming, and why not? And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14)
  5. Involuntary Negative/Outrageous Reactions to the name of Jesus, Reading of Certain Scripture and/or Christian symbols (Cross, Bible, Etc) From my experience demons ABHOR an actual Bible, especially the King James Bible which I believe is the most accurate. (not everyone has to agree with me on this). Some of the weaker demons will become VERY enraged at the sight of this. Infact, during my time in a psychiatric ward, one young girl got EXTREMELY offended and agitated by the sight of my bible when I held it up to her to see (it had a cross on it as well). She started cursing the name of God and crying and shouting wildly to take people's attention off the Bible. More so, demons HATE having good, solid scripture read aloud (ESPECIALLY in front of the lost). They will start to act crazy, do something like change the conversation, do anything and everything to keep you from reading it and keeping people's attentions off the word of God. In my experience with one demonized man, while I was quoting a powerful scripture in Revelation (one of their LEAST liked books which shows that they are defeated by Christ), the man threw up violently, either because he was so shaken by the Word or because he wanted to distract the other people that were around him, I don't know, only God knows. But either way, USE THE WORD, The bible says the Word of God is our sword, so use the Truth on them and put it on your heart, they will flee from you if you use the right verses against them. In order to cast out demons, some people, depending on how strong their faith is, can make the demon leave by the name of Christ alone and a command, some you have to use the actual Word on them, but it depends on the strength and quantity of the demons IMO.
  6. They damage and kill themselves, others and things. It is the source of most of our murders and rapes and all other wicked actions against humanity, demonized people get pleasure from killing and torture. They do it to not only others, but their host, because in the end of the day, they HATE and DESPISE humans because we are made in the image of God and they hate God so of course they hate us. They want to see as many of us destroyed and damned as they can. So they go out and wreak havoc upon the world and seek to destroy and kill. I believe many of the cases of suicide are results of demonetization, because, perhaps, the demon gets bored of the person, sees that they are close to breaking free of them, and so they make that person hate themselves so much, have so much hopelessness that they make them kill themselves. It is SO sad, and I believe I was being influenced by demons at one point when I desired to commit suicide, but grace be to GOD for having mercy on me and saving me from that! Scripture Support: And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” (Mark 9:20-21)

The problem is that much of this is well beyond scripture. I must ask, how do you cast out demons?

Edit: This is from my personal encounters with the demonized, what I have observed. True not every detail of what I talked about is in scripture but that doesn't mean it isn't how they act.

I honestly don't know. I've never done it, never seen it happen, but I've read about it. It usually has to be done by multiple people though, depending on the number of demons inside the person. Also, I read that you first have to bind up the spirit in the name of Jesus, and break its' 'legal rights' that it claims to have upon a person. Honestly, I don't know how to cast out a demon, only how to guard against them and to make them flee.

I had a demonized person today in the maximum security part of the prison try to tempt me to give it my true name (if it has your name it has more power over you IMO) and I simply said 'blood of jesus' and it walked away. Sometimes it takes more than just simply saying something along those lines, it depends on the strength and number of demons the person has. I believe there are lesser and greater demons, some who have been given more power than others.

Of course Jesus was tempted by Satan three times, he was the strongest demon (in reply to @Earth Wind and Fire But to be able to make a demon flee from you by a simple declaration of faith is not surprising if it the person was being possessed by weaker demons.

Yes, it was.

I've had several short conversations with people who have said things they couldn't possibly know, and I knew where they got it from.
I could see someone else in their eyes, looking back at me, too.
It was spiritual, not physical.

Also, they didn't remember saying anything after the fact, like an hour later.

The first few times ( especially the first ) I was very nervous ...
The last few times it has happened, I just looked them square in the eyes and waited to see if they were going to say something.

Normally, when they sense that you're not afraid, they simply stop.;)

Since then I've only gotten more comfortable knowing that God has saved me and I am His.
Yes, my enemy "has my number".
But the Lord is my Deliverer and He has their number, and they are living on short time that gets shorter and shorter, like Dorothy's hourglass...
and they know that their time is short.

Sometimes I remind them of how short it is when they are having an especially good day playing on my fears and faults. :)

But the Lord says I shouldn't talk to them, so more often than not, I don't unless they start it.
Then I keep my words direct and to the point, if I say anything at all.

I try to avoid them when I can, but when I am in the presence of one near by and it is trying to talk to me, I normally just tell it to leave me alone in Jesus' name or say 'blood of Jesus', it is a good witness to those (especially unbelievers) to see how the Holy Spirit works upon these people who, to them, are just 'deranged'. Anything to glorify God, when His power is seen through any of us who have that kind of faith to repel these malevolent foes.

I forgot to say, when I was in the psych ward, one of the demonized people actually told me that it was surprised I wasn't being fooled, and that, not a lot of people realize that they are talking to a demon inside a person. Not just him indicated this truth to me.

I'm sorry but True Names are pagan sorcery. We can cast demons out like Jesus and His disciples using the name of Jesus, prayer, and faith. One person is all that is needed. The mechanics should not have changed. The scriptures surely don't tell us the rules have changed.

Binding up a demon through breaking strongholds (usually of sin or "generational") is not biblical. Nowhere does Jesus or His disciples do that. It is pop psychology masquerading as Christian theology to break sin or "generational" strongholds to free people from demonic attack.

As to demonology, we have to be careful. The scriptures tell us very little about Satan and his angels. I think because it isn't pertinent information to cast them out.

So you’re saying we shouldn’t even try to cast them out period? And whatever you say, I’ve read where multiple people have cast them out and one.

Cast them out like Jesus and his disciples did in the bible is what I am saying.

The Bible doesn't say anything about this. The only cessation talked about in Scripture is when Christ returns—when the perfect comes.

And even if you believe this is about the cannon, the burden of cessation is on you. What is your historical evidence it no longer exists? What is your biblical evidence it ceased?

I provided my view, still waiting for you to address it.

Van said: "Who wants us to be focused on demons in others..."

Discernment of demonic presence being active around you is beneficial.

Greek: Pharmakeia English: Pharmacy, drugs
The KJV translates Strong's G5331 in the following manner: sorcery (2x), witchcraft (1x).

Outline of Biblical Usage [?]
I. the use or the administering of drugs
II. poisoning
III. sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it
IV. metaph. the deceptions and seductions of idolatry

[Gal 5:20 KJV] 20 Idolatry, witchcraft,[G5331] hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

[Rev 9:21 KJV] 21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries,[G5331] nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

[Rev 18:23 KJV] 23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries[G5331] were all nations deceived.

Liberals redefine words so scripture seems to support their bogus views. Pharma does not refer to demon-possession

I missed the passage that said that Satan has stopped being the spirit that works in the children of disobedience ( Ephesians 2:2 ), and that believers have stopped wrestling... not against flesh and blood, but with the rulers of the darkness of this world ( Ephesians 6:12 ).;)
Once again we see a strawman argument. Did I say Satan had stopped? Nope. All these people have are misrepresentations and ad hominems.

I provided the view that demon possession was referenced time and again during the life of Christ and His disciples (New Testament) but the future reference in scripture of demons is during "end times." See Revelation 16:13-14 for demons doing miracles.

Van,
Offhand I'd say you've probably never seen God's enemy, the adversary ( for that is what "Satan" means, "adversary" ) manifested in the eyes and actions of someone who opposes all that the believer loves...
God's word, Jesus Christ and godly people.

There is a spirit that works in the children of disobedience, and I've had many occasions to remind me that he is among them.
I can tell that @Miss E has experienced similar things as I have.
On and on these posters equate the actions of Satan in our world today, with demon-possession of individuals. Utter nonsense.

Next the claim of mind reading is once again asserted, claiming I have not seen God's enemy at work. Such claims are feeble minded malarkey, the pathetic argument of the absurd.

OK, I have had many an encounter with demonic spirits. I'll call it that, the demonic. The wacky, scary "phenomena" are meant to hurt your faith. To make the demon seem God-like and impossibly eldritch and terrible compared to you. This makes Jesus Christ and His name seem less powerful.

Just rebuke the demon in Jesus name in faith without fear until it goes. This isn't rocket surgery. It is difficult to summon such faith, but if your faith is weak then you have to grow it ASAP to deal with the demonic.

I will try this when I am faced with another today. I am delivering mail to the dorms today (since the woman that usually does it is doing in-service training) and I will have to enter one of the most demonized pods today, and I must admit I do feel fear but I will pray that God will give me more faith than fear.

I haven't seen you make the positive case yet. And frankly, Van, you rarely do.
Another ad hominem, another denial of the obvious.

I'm just wondering, Van, why you're the only one that seems to see the obviousness of your cases. And why you think it's an ad hominem attack of someone doesn't see your case?

You've not made a positive argument for the case of cessation of demon possession. The fact that it is mentioned all throughout the NT, including in NT prophesy, is not a case for cessation.

Can you give a hypothetical example of what you'd expect the Bible to say, if possession were to continue?

First, you are addressing me, and my supposed flaw, rather than the topic.
You repeat - not made a positive argument - but did not address the argument, demon-possession removal was a sign and wonder miracle used to authenticate Christ and His disciples, thus once the NT had been authenticated, the need for the authenticating miracles ended.

The next entity that scripture says will do miracles comes from the dark side.

Yeah. This claiming of victory after every post is a recurring theme. It gets in the way of the dialog.

Which I addressed. There is no passage in the NT regarding cessation of anything in the church age. The reference by Paul was to the perfect, which is referring to the return of Christ, when all will be seen clearly.

The next entity that scripture says will do miracles comes from the dark side.

Demons don't do miracles, they do false miracles. They are mentioned all throughout the NT and in future prophesy.

You still haven't made the case they do not exist now. What is your positive case?
