I live just outside of SC and I did not hear of him preaching on the news here. If he did it for political gain i would be completely aginst it. If he did it to farther Gods word I am all for it. I believe if it were for political reasons it would have been all over the news here.

If you had a public stage to proclame Gods word on would you proclame His word.

Well, when Mr. Huckabee was my government he was not against what I wanted him to be against - for example, raising taxes, being soft on crime, being soft on illegal immigration, increasing government spending, increasing the size and scope of government.

I guess Mr. Huckabee should not even attend church while campaining because it's just to garner votes, right? He should give up demonstrating his personal faith for political reasons, right? And a former pastor running for President should NEVER preach anywhere because it could ONLY be for political gain.

To me it's refreshing that he is who he is and isn't gonna let political pundits dictate his relationship with Christ. Politically he knew he would get negative press over this preaching opportunity, yet he chose preaching Christ over political expediency. Hmmm.... I think I like that!

By the way, I'm leaning toward Huckabee, but still waiting to see if he will stand up against the moderate McCain. I'll wait and see.....

Why is it always assumed his motives are bad? Why is it hard to assume that just MAYBE he is using his presidential campaign to focus attention on Christ, and THAT is the reason for preaching Sunday?

I agree whole heartidly, and think it is wonderful that he preaches the gospel no matter what...

So what if he is a presidential candidate.. he is a press secretary for the King of Kings first and foremost.

So what if the person behind the Oval Desk happens to do his most important work from behind the Holy desk?

Don't get me wrong, if he is called to preach them more power to him. I fully support him. If he preached back home while stumping in another state, I would be ok with that. What I have a problem with is him preaching in the very NEXT state in line to vote AND he is running for office.

And while president, I would expect him to preach too...

The Bible instructs us to do everything as if we are doing it for Christ...

That is the problem with American politics, and liberals today anyway.. they want to pigeon hole Christianity into Sunday morning only.

The fact is, our country needs Godly leaders in all levels...
We need true Christians that are not afraid to stand up for Christ.. even if they are the President of the US.

Do I know anything out right about Huckabee and if he has don't anything wrong? No, I haven't researched it, but if he's a 100% honest politican, he would be a first I believe.
