If God chooses, why does He ask me to believe?

I was being devils advocate to the Calvinists.

They should explain and answer the questions. My right honorable friend from Kentucky is banned,...so
I had several posts deleted, guess I’m on probation. Kentucky is my friend, as well, & one of the best I have witnessed on this board for being fair, open minded, tolerant, & loving. This is troubling.

I think the conversation had become without merit , too personal

Simply because it is God's will that we believe in Him. He knows if we don't believe He cannot save us. Faith is the key to Salvation.

There's one thing God CAN not do. Anything else? like creating a rock so big He can't lift it?

As I was taught, "a word to the wise should be sufficient".

Gal 6:7 KJV - Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Gal 6:8 KJV - For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Gal 6:9 KJV - And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Gal 6:10 KJV - As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Then that faith or belief is irrational.

yes, it is . We do not use our minds to believe but our hearts.

Heb 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:2
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Heb 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

The heart is a figure of speech for one's intermost being. Irrationalism is wrong when it comes to truth.

Evidence is rational.

Heb 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
To understand is rational.

We understand and believe the evidence after we exercise faith in things we do not understand

the substance of things hoped for , evidence of things not seen, things inside, not outside evidence

Our heart is same as our soul, pnuema, not our psyche , nor soma. Faith is from the soul not psyche

Being convinced that Jesus came out of the grave after three days is not rational. Neither is my priesthood or sainthood; nor God's love for fallen mankind.
So are you saying the bodily ressurrection is irrational? ". . . delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. . . ." -- Romans 4:25. ". . . Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. . . ." -- Isaiah 1:18.

Jhn 10:38

But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

Mar 1:15

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Why is it up me to believe if I was chosen? If chosen, why would salvation depend on my belief? or my actions at all?
He doesn't ask. He commands it. Just as He commands that you do not sin, knowing that it is not in your power not to.
