You got no bible verse, because your teaching is unbiblical.

One thing at a time lets get this straight Its not faith alone.

Since Calvinist just pretend to believe in faith alone for purpose of farming other Christians
Calvinist version is pretty simple, Is it a sin to refuse to hear the gospel?
Saved b y faith alone in jesus, as jesus Himself told us the ONLY work God required was to believe unto Him to save you, same thing paul told his jailer!

I can buy that. "the ONLY work God required"

This all we need clarification of. GOOD WORKS are REQUIRED. I don't care how tiny the good work is.

Ok, then you tell me what James 2:17-19 means and you will kill two birds with one stone.
You don't engage my post, so whyever would I answer your questions?

I'm here posting because I'm not following the OPs train of thought, and I'm asking him for clarification. I'm not sure what purpose you've served, other than to jump in and insult me.

The mere choice is a work. What the Holy Spirit is saying is -Like God is one Works and Faith are. If you are still trying to divide the two then you do not believe God is one.
James 2:17-19 Faith and Works
…17So too, faith by itself, if it is not complemented by works, is dead. 18But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19You believe that God is one. Good for you! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.…

So it would seem faith and works can not be divided as God can not, they are one as He is one.
One cannot mix Good works and Grace for salvation, read Galatians!

And even that saving faith is the gift of God towards us, so we can do NOTHING to save ourselves!

No problem.

1. FAITH ALONE <---required for salvation.

2. NO FAITH ALONE = SIN

3. Sin = Breaking Commandment

4. Breaking Commandment = Not doing LOVING GOD, LOVING NEIGHBOR

5. LOVING GOD, LOVING NEIGHBOR = GOOD WORKS

Are all these lines true?

1. Do you need faith to be saved? The whole teaching of faith alone is you need faith.

2 If you don't have faith is this a sin? If you don't believe in Jesus Christ, If you don't have faith in Jesus, Is this a sin?

3 SIN = Breaking commandment. If you sinned you are breaking a commandment.

4 Which commandment did you break when you don't believe or have faith in Jesus? if it offends God your breaking love of God. If you get offended that someone offends God, they are breaking love of neighbor also. It is equated in 1 john 5 to calling God a liar if you don't believe the gospel.

5 Loving God , Loving neighbor are the ONLY GOOD WORKS.

Feel free to pick a number if you have trouble with it. Maybe you think #3 is false or maybe you heard #5 means something else.
Thanks for responding.

Just for some initial thoughts, I don’t see where the inseparability of faith and works imparts salvific properties to the works.

And I may be missing your meaning, but it seems like you're positing that since we're damned by evil works/sin, we must be saved by good works.

So guys if you don't have faith in Jesus, and nor repent, IS THIS A SIN?
Which commandment does it break? LOVE GOD OR LOVE NEIGHBOR?
Neither of those.
It breaks the command of Christ. The very first words of Christ as He entered His public ministry were these:

"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the Gospel" (Mark 1:15). We are not told that this command was given to any particular people. Therefore it is the duty of all men and women to repent and believe.

1. FAITH ALONE <---required for salvation.
Incomplete. Other requirements for salvation also include that one must be foreknown, predestined, and called by the the persons of the Godhead (Romans 8).
2. NO FAITH ALONE = SIN
Faith is a GIFT from God. It is not a sin to not be able to conjure up saving faith from within yourself. God must grant that faith to you. (John 6, Romans 12, Ephesians 2, others).
3. Sin = Breaking Commandment
And this is our problem. We have all sinned. God has COMMANDED that we repent (Acts 17).

We are talking about Faith and Works. Grace is what was given to us by Christ coming and ransoming us.It is by grace we are saved, not by any merit of our own. Faith is believing in the grace of salvation and acting on it, the act is a work of which combines faith . If you have a problem with faith and works being one take it up with God , they are one as He is one . If you doubt that then you do not believe God is one.
NOTE: Remember we are talking about FAITH and WORKS here. It is clear neither of these would or could come about without the offering of GRACE through SALVATION.

Yeshua 1, people like you think the scriptures contradict one another. You try to use scripture against scripture as though they will implode! In James 2 it is clear what is being said here and then you go to some other scripture hoping to delete one YOU do not accept.

I would like to say Good for you!, you believe God is one. But if you deny what He says , I have to say sorry for you. And it is clear you do not think all the scriptures are one or you would see you can not use them to contradict each other. What is clear then is you are not recieving your interpretation from the Holy Spirit. THE SCRIPTURES DO NOT CONTRADICT ONE ANOTHER PERIOD!

Maybe you will get it at a later date.

The Light of the Gospel 2Corinthians 3-5
…3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.…

It would seem that somewhere in you journey you have denied certain Dogma , that has resulted in a blindness to the truth of James 2 and therefore all scripture for that matter , for they are one as God is one.

I don't believe we are saved by works alone. I don't believe a person can merit salvation. But I also don't believe a person is saved by faith alone. But if Faith Alone is insisted then it should be understood that the sin of not believing and not having faith obviously breaks the commandment of God. Love God and love neighbor are the only good works.

Simply put faith alone is false, self-refuting even if one claims not having faith is a sin.

Matt; 17:5"While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!”

So, God commanded everyone to listen to Jesus. And what did Jesus say? That no one comes to The Father except thru Him.

As for good worx, they count nothing, unless the doer is saved. Good worx come about thru faith. I mean, hey! Even Hitler did a few good worx!

Paul is talking about Justified before god, while James refers to Justified before men!

I see James in context as using "justified" as meaning "validated".

It is the only way, imho, to reconcile Paul and James use of "justified".

James would fully agree with Paul on how any sinner can get right with God, but tells us that we can show off our good works and good deeds to demonstrate to others that the professed salvation was a valid one!

All our works in faith, all our faith which is evident by our works are justified before God. \

Now, it is you who is dividing even the faith and works of men before God.

We who know faith and works are one are Justified before God , men and demons.
jus·ti·fied

adjective: justified
  1. 1.
having, done for, or marked by a good or legitimate reason.
"the doctors were justified in treating her"
  2. 2.
    Theology
declared or made righteous in the sight of God . It would seem you are not justified before any because you deny what Faith and Works are and that they are ONE as GOD IS ONE. You are making no demon shudder.

You heard it here folks. We need good works --> Love God , Love Neighbor. Faith Alone is false. :D

One cannot love God and at the same time say he has no faith Jesus Christ is the Son of God. This said love would be rejected by God. There is only One Mediator between God and man, Christ Jesus.
