Interracial Marriage

It is interesting to note the number of responses which follow this pattern:

"Interracial marriage is not Biblically wrong, though it is doubtful I would practice it myself, nor would I recommend it to my children, for [logistical, social, children's sake] reasons."

Interesting, indeed.
Why is that interesting to you?

Filmproducer, I do not think Faithgirl met the "At least" comment in a negative way. I can understand the misunderstanding though.

Sorry faithgirl, I knew you didn't mean it negatively. Sorry, I know I was being nitpicky.

This exact same topic came up on another Christian website I was on, and, well, let's just say that the responses were totally unChristian ( and a couple more adjectives i could list. They too brought up the thing that Ham was cursed and therefore the black race "is not worthy to intermarry with the white race", to put it plain.

To put my opinion straight, it's enough to make any sensible,God-fearing Christian PUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DRF

My response to the Ham-curse crowd is - they are still included in "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. " John 3:16

He said "whosoever" not, "only white people" or "only those who don't intermarry." "Whosoever" means everyone, period.

On a different note, diverse genes on the part of a mother and father lessen the chances of a child having birth defects. A perfect example of this is the Royal Family of England and the hemophilia gene.

interracial marriages?

What is that? People are people no matter the color of the skin. It is people who make a big deal about the color of skin. God does not see their color only their hearts. The heart of the people are all the same. We all breath air, eat, work, pray, Worship God and sleep. If you remember when the tower of Babal was built all people were of the same origin, spoke the same language and they were all the same. Instantly they were turned into different people of different languages initially all people were the same. I know that is in the Bible just don't know where it is. Look it up, That is in the Bible. :saint: :saint: :praying:

Exactly. I had an aunt and an uncle who were racists. I told them that Jesus died for all of us.

True Family

Matthew 12:46-50 clearly shows the Christian concept of "True Family", that is, even a fellow kinsman, fellow flesh and blood, is not to be held as important in a Christian's heart and mind as a fellow believer.

In short, BELIEF trumps BLOOD.

After all, a fellow True Believer acknowledges and seeks to do the Will of Almighty God, the CREATOR of life...

while even your own Blood is a created thing.

GOD
FOLK
REICH

GOD
KIN
COUNTRY

Even the 10 Commandments are broken down this way, putting GOD first... and THEN dealing with FAMILY... and then with SOCIETY.

A True Believer focuses on GOD and guards ALL life, and treats ALL of his fellow neighbors as he would be treated.

There is nothing Scripturally wrong with so-called interracial marriage. I'm married to a Rebel, and I'm a Yankee...so, there's not even anything wrong with cross cultural marriage.

My wife and I have many friends who are married to people of another color, but they are as happy as can be. Thank the Lord that my great granparents weren't bigots, since one was Irish and the other was Cherokee! My family background is a mix of several different races and cultures. I thank the Lord for it! :praise:

Rebels and Yankees? If that's okay then almost anything goes... :)

I was chatting with one of my friends in IN who also happens to be a pastor's wife and we got on the topic of interracial marriage. I was wondering what the general view is by the people on the board whether it is right or wrong according to the Bible. I'm looking for verses that reveal the answer on the topic.

I will share that so far no one that I know has been able to give me Bible evidence that it is wrong. Most people I know that believe it is wrong were simply raised in families that were extremely racist and that is why they believe it to be sinful.

Your thoughts would be appreciated!

I believe that it is very sinful for humans and aliens to marry.

Mixed Race Marriage

Who among us have not been touched in some way with mixed marriages. In this day and time it has become more common. I will say this, if someone gets married in a mixed race they are in for a hard life and need to know that before entering into a mixed marriage. I don't care if its the North or South, there still is prejudice among us all. We all say we are not prejudice but on both sides we are. I would rather be totally honest than say I didn't have a prejudice bone in my body. It is just knowing what they will have to go through even though everyone may have the best intentions. All men are God's creation and all are equal in His sight. I don't know what color we be in Heaven except we will have a countenance that outshines the sun.

I don't remember who said it first, but I do believe that it is something that is occurring because of the end times. Not that there's anything wrong with interracial marriages, just as there is nothing wrong with knowledge increasing, it's just one of the things that will help shuttle it in.

Most people do not know much about the difference between one race and another. All they see is color and a few other features.

Bro Bob,I agree with you. I was taught that mixed marriages were wrong, among other things. I am not going to lie and say that I have always been for mixed marriages, because I haven't. I have spoke to God about changing my attitude; and He has.
