Iowa Democratic Caucuses

I'll give my own bias away. I am an Independent that leans Republican.

It is finally time for the Democrats to choose a nominee. Who will take on President Trump? Bigger is what the direction of a party representing almost half of America is?

So, far the Caucuses are in chaos. CNN reports the app to report results has crashed statewide. All 1700 precincts are calling in results by phone, but there is an over an hour wait time. Some officials are even being hung up on. CNN admits the Republicans and the White House are laughing their rear ends off.

Thats my guess. I would add Obama/Clinton machine in the mix with DNC.

The disaster in counting the votes in the Democrat caucus in Iowa in no way reflects on the ability of the Democrats to keep the temperature of this planet from rising after they have raised your taxes, Reynolds!

The race is now a close fight between Buttigieg and Sanders. Biden is coldcocked as well as Klobuchar. Warren could not best Bernie at his own liberal game.

Wow, It could be Pete Buttigieg or Bernie Sanders vs President Trump in November.

LOL, they release a poll with sixty two percent in with Butt in the lead. followed closely by the Red Bern. Lizzie, then Joe in fourth. Biden ought to really be upset with his own party for making Bursima such a big deal.

I don't believe these results, I think Bernie won and probably won big, and the gay mayor finished a distant second or third. Word is the DNC want Liz and Bernie both in, so they split up the super crazy vote. Biden was the DNC establishment but that was before Ukraine and dementia, so now they are scrambling. They could go with Buttgig, but he has big trouble with black support and they think Trump would eat him alive in a debate and he IS a guy with a husband. They'd be better off reimaging Biden, if possible, or going with (gag) Bloomberg and his box.

I suspect many of those voting in the caucuses for Buttigieg were blue dog Democrats — registered as such so they can upset matters in the primaries, but voting Republican in the general election (I know because I am one of those and have been for years).

So is the point to vote for the one you think has the least chance of winning?

Decades ago a prof told us that in Wisconsin he and many other Dems had crossed over to vote for Joe McCarthy as a weaker candidate. He was remorseful and advised against crossing over.

Now Ike shut down McCarthy politically over the Army hearings. And I always liked Ike and still do. He served in the US Army almost his entire life and he gave us the golden fifties of peace and prosperity and domestic tranquility.

So I followed the prof's advice and never crossed over. I vote in the GOP primary only. My folks were Taft Republicans. When Taft died, they said that it was God's will that Robert Taft was never President. That's small town agricultural Indiana along the Wabash River.

More like the one who might stir the pot the most and cause real trouble for the DNC. No need to scrape the absolute bottom of the barrel if that person would be ignored in any case. (There is a method to the madness).
