From another thread ....

IN NOAH's DAY - Genesis 6:5,11,12 ...'And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.'
Rant wonders - "So Jesus is saying that the world in the end times would 'mirror' what it was like in the days of Noah and Lot. Do we have a world like that today? "

Are hurricanes, tsunamis, mass murders, floods, fires, droughts, etc, God's punishment for increasingly evil human behaviour? Are they a specific warning of the imminence of the "rapture?" Is the establishment of a Jewish nation in the promised land confirmation of the imminence of the "rapture?"

In short, remembering & observing the signs Jesus gave in his Olivet prophecy, alerted the first century Christians that it was time to leave Jerusalem & Judea before the prophesied destruction. Should we read the "Olivet signs " as signs of the imminent return of the Lord for resurrection & judgment?

Are we "this generation?"

IN LOT's DAY - Jude 1:7 ...'Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.'
So the earth in the days of Noah was full of people who rejected God and walked after their own flesh and served their own interests. And the earth was full of violence. And what about during Lot's day in Sodom? God's Word says that the people of Sodom had given themselves over to sexual fornication and 'strange flesh', which is homosexuality. So Jesus is saying that the world in the end times would 'mirror' what it was like in the days of Noah and Lot. Do we have a world like that today? Absolutely!

Are You Rapture Ready?

I will not pass this way again bible judgment>> IS AMERICA UNDER A ABANDONMENT JUDGMENT FROM GOD?

Not just America, UK, the West Indies, Africa, & the rest of the world.

The USA is obviously not under God's judgment since Trump supporters helped Jesus' candidate win the Presidency. Right?

People today are just as evil as they were in Noah's day. The USA seems as if it is on the verge of a civil war sometimes. But storms and natural disasters are part of the curse and so what can be said about them? Sometimes, people say that the federal government should not insure these homes in flood-prone areas but the people getting the free money think that it is a great idea for others to pay for them to have a house on the beach. I am thinking that Puerto Rico is hardly fit for human habitation and that Spain should be forced to take it back.

I dont believe the world is any worse then it ever was. We as being alive are so narrow minded, we can't grasp anything other then the here and now.
Sin is Sin, yes America is becoming terrible, with Homosexuality and divorce and all around sin. But was it better in the "lawless" days of the old west? Was the dark ages, the middle ages Better then now? We are actually in a very peaceful time in history.
I would say the world is a lot better today then it was, it maybe getting worse in the last 100 years or so. But to say its the worse time ever, I do not see that as truthful at all.

Of course the US is under condemnation. Does not the whole plant grown under its currant condemnation?

The last 2000 years are but the beginning of sorrows.

4And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.5“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8“But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.

9“Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10“At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. 11“Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. 12“Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. 13“But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. 14“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Could we agree that it is no better than it has ever been? The most peaceful time in recent history was right after WW II. Now we are daily on the brink of nuclear war.

My father was born in the opening years of the 1900's.

In the century plus from his birth, there has been remarkable inventions of both blessing and sorrow in that time.

As he grew old, more often he grieved that the US was but a shadow of what it once was.

But one concern he had was that the lessons of history were never learned.

I agree in the last century it's regressed. But still it's better then the 1900 years before.

The Cuban missle crisis surely was worse. I believe it's better then the dark and middle ages.

We had peace and prosperity and domestic tranquility after WW II until the 1960s. The Russians thought F.C. (Fidel Castro) was insane to want to use atomic weapons on New York City. JFK was weak as water It is myth to say that the Middle Ages were so bad. Because of total depravity all times are essentially bad as The Flood did not change the human heart.

.

Where is the "funny" button :)?:)

But yes, the whole planet does groan under God's current condemnation. Since the fall. (In Eden, not what we call Autumn.)

Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

I never said the middle ages were so bad. Just how is today worse?
What is worse?
Wars?
Famine?
Earthquakes?

What is worse about today? Men are waxing worse and worse. The 20th century was the deadliest in human history with tens of millions murdered by their own governments. The old America is gone forever and we now have almost daily demonstrations. Islam is on the march against everyone worldwide. Most of the world is destitute. Even backward countries have atomic weapons, making the threat of war unbearable. War itself is now very deadly due to new technologies. The church is asleep.

We also have a lot more of a population. Numbers will be up in war.
Like I said your thinking is way to narrow. No one is doubting America is getting worse in this century. But it is not the worse in history.

As you can see WW2 is the deadliest, but population percentage it is not near the "deadliest" in human history.

66 million Second World War 20C
40 million Genghis Khan 13C
27 million British India (mostly famine) 19C
25 million Fall of the Ming Dynasty 17C
20 million Taiping Rebellion 19C
million Joseph Stalin 20C
18½ million Mideast Slave Trade 7C-19C
17 million Timur Lenk 14C-15C
16 million Atlantic Slave Trade 15C-19C
15 million First World War 20C
million Conquest of the Americas 15C-19C
13 million An Lushan Revolt 8C
10 million Xin Dynasty 1C
10 million Congo Free State 19C-20C
9 million Russian Civil War 20C
7½ million Thirty Years War 17C
7½ million Fall of the Yuan Dynasty 14C
7 million Fall of Rome 5C
7 million Chinese Civil Wars 20C

The 1600s lost 10-15 percent of the population alone!

Twentieth Century Atlas - Historical Body Count

Everyone may have a nuke. It could turn worse. But thats just a maybe. So far, the wars have always been there.
