It always strikes me as intriguing that women are encouraged to be missionary pastors. But, here in the 3d largest mission field in the world, a woman cannot teach a coed sunday school class.

I often wonder if that is why so many women want to be missionary preachers.
I've not been following this thread, but I always perk up when the subject of missions comes up.

The main reason having women as missionary pastors is a bad idea is that then the Christian family is not modeled Biblically on the mission field. And this is a HUGE reason in my mind. One of the biggest failures of missions in the past century (as well as workaholic Christianity in America) is the failure to Biblically model the home.

[qb] Scott,

[qb]You are, at this point, far more concerned with the dogma you are clinging to than you are about whether or not the message of the lord is being given out.
That is untrue and for you to assert it with absolutely no proof is deception by implication on your part. Please stop it.

Your interpretation of the scripture involved is NOT the one most churches teach
I could care less what the majority says. I care what God says. You have yet to deal with that.
Dear Scott:

Thank you for defending scripture in such a patient and eloquent manner. I wish I could do it as well as you do.

When it comes to scripture, I define a liberal as one who seeks to increase personal liberty beyond that which scripture allows. My opposite of a liberal is a legalist, who seeks to impose rules that scripture does not. My definition of a conservative is one who does neither.

Now, I don't doubt the motives or the sincerity of the liberals and legalists who post here. But pragmatism is a dangerous thing. It is used by both factions to attempt to make their cases. My question to everybody is: If, in our application we depart from what scripture actually says, who gets to decide which direction we go and where we stop?

Once again, Scott, thank you. And if you are ever in East Texas I'd like to meet you!
