There is nothing incomplete in this verse, no need to assume anything than what it says

#'s 2-6 and 6 are wrong, based on an assumption that #1 is wrong.
There is no reason to look for a different meaning to reconcile the days in the tomb. There is not a discrepancy .

Any partial day example noted does not fit this narrative.

It appears there have been no 6th day of the week crucifixion advocates reading this topic. But maybe there will be someone doing so in the future.

This topic is really directed to those who think the Messiah died on the afternoon of the 6th day of the week with His resurrection taking place on the 1st day of the week. I was merely asking if that was your belief. Because if it wasn't, then the issue of this topic wouldn't be applicable to a different belief. I'm sorry if I somehow offended you. It certainly wasn't intended.

[63] They told him, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver once said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise from the dead.’ [64] So we request that you seal the tomb until the third day. This will prevent his disciples from coming and stealing his body and then telling everyone he was raised from the dead! If that happens, we’ll be worse off than we were at first.”

The way the Pharisees interpreted what Jesus said seems to indicate that the resurrection would happen prior to the end of three days and not after three days.

I think this is the way most interpreted what Jesus said.

It directly pertains to your op.

The Messiah said that 3 night times would be involved with His time in the "heart of the earth". However, I think a large number of Baptists believe that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with a 1st day of the week resurrection. This period, though, allows for only 2 night times to be involved. To reconcile this discrepancy, some say that the Messiah was using common Jewish idiomatic language. But in order to legitimately say that it was employing common, idiomatic/figure of speech/colloquial language, one would have to know of other instances where a daytime or a night time was predicted to be involved with an event when no part of the daytime or no part of the night time could occur. I wonder if anyone knows of examples to support the assertion that is was common practice?

Allow me to draw the lines then.

I’m assuming that you don’t believe that the writer of the gospel of Matthew is a liar who is just making things up.

The Pharisees are in opposition to Jesus and want to make sure that hisprophecy will not come true. They were there and knew what Jesus had said publically. The Pharasees wanted to make sure the people knew that what he said did not come true. The Pharasees were jews and therefore knew the most common way what Jesus said would be interpreted.

Knowing that the Pharasees knew what Jesus said and understood how the Jewish people would interprete what he said, they would ask Pilate to seal the tomb accordingly.

The Pharisees asked Pilate to seal the tomb until the third day. If the most common interpretation was after 72 hours, they would have asked Pilate to seal the tomb until the fourth or even the fifth day. The enemies of Jesus confirm the most common interpretation of what Jesus said.
