Geraghty defined the concerns most clearly, stating: "If Obama were born outside the United States, one could argue that he would not meet the legal definition of natural-born citizen … because U.S. law at the time of his birth required his natural-born parent (his mother) to have resided in the United States for '10 years, at least [f]ive of which had to be after the age of 16.'"

I do too, although I would have preferred John Edwards.dragonfly said:No, I don't agree at all. I like Obama!
And if pigs could fly one could argue that they were birds.
LadyEagle said:It's obvious that some here do not care if Obama meets the Constitutional requirements for POTUS. If what is posted here is only a minute fractional sampling of American citizens opinions, then the Constitution really doesn't matter anymore, like Henry Hyde said a few years back. If that is the case, we as a nation are toast. And so are our constitutional freedoms.
C4K said:You are exactly right, it is clear that people don't care what the Constitution says at all. They don't care that every natural born citizen, no matter what their race, background, or religion has the right to run for president, so they try to destroy them with trumped us suppositions.
Henry Hyde was right.
Cutter said:Roger, if the Obama campaign ever wants to form an anti-defamation team, you should apply. You definitely meet the criteria for the position. I have never seen such blind allegiance and passionate apologetics practiced by one human being for another. If that did not work out you can always get a position with the ACLU!
It isn't blind allegiance to support the truth. In fact, I believe Roger has made it clear, he doesn't support Obama for President. However, he is calling out those who use character assassination and lies to oppose a valid candidate. I am surprised those who attach the name of Christian to themselves support defamation.Cutter said:Roger, if the Obama campaign ever wants to form an anti-defamation team, you should apply. I do not in any way, shape, or form support the Sen Obama for president.
I do despise unfair politicking no matter who the victim.
If you want to discuss that, start a thread. Nice attempt to derail.Revmitchell said:Do you mean defamation like "Bush lied to get us into war"?

Observation, not tryting to create a tangent, as you were.Revmitchell said:Then your false claim of unchristian behavior and defamation is clearly off topic by your own standard.

Mitch, are you incapable of discussing a subject without insults and ad hominems? Apparently not. I have not attacked you, so get off your high horse.Revmitchell said:You may be right. Showing your hypocracy might just belong in another thread.
