What he's getting at is that people credit God with a blessing, then it turns out their "blessing" is occupying all their time. Probably not God after allTake another look at God (who you did say held the blessings)?

Lots of people teach tithing yet I can't find anything in the NT to support it. What is taught in the NT is free will giving. This is what I practice and I can't afford 10% anyways due to my quitting my second job. WOTM radio as well as Mac have commented on this topic. Mac even wrote a book explains from scripture and history why the tithe is not for today. So what do you say?
Can you find any place in the NT that negates the tithe?
Its not taught in the NT. Your argument is one from silence. What is clearly taught in the NT is free will giving.
Please make the case for your position without quoting a book other than scripture.
Find me a chapter and a verse teaching tithing in the NT.

Just as I thought, look if you cannot back up your statements its best to not make them.

Can you find any place in the NT that negates the test of an unfaithful wife [Numbers 5:11->]?
You are correct in that tithing is not part of the new covenant. Tithing was a part of the law. We are no longer under the law. Gal 3:23-25.
Therefore any consideration of whether we should tithe or not is asking if one needs to keep the law! That's what the entire book of Galatians is about! So no. You do not have to tithe. Not one bit. And if a church you are going to says: "Oh it's not a tithe, it's a free offering and you should give 10%" is again putting you under the law. A tithe means a tenth or 10%. So please whatever you do, do NOT give 10%! Give some other number so it does not become like the law.
And don't listen to the unrighteous, hypocritical judges I see in this thread who say things like "If you have $500 for a toy, you have money to give." Listen. If it is going to hurt your financial situation, then you should not give at all. I can't imagine that you'd be giving with joyful heart - 2 Cor 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
I can assure you, if you are living on the edge, cheer will not be what you'll be giving with. You likely have a debt issue which you will have to deal with imo before you can give cheerfully.
Moreover, I see that you mentioned both the WOTM and MacArthur. Both of these men are false teachers who teach justification by works, even as they claim they don't. I can show you how that is true and what the bible says about justification.
Better yet, can you show any place in the New or Old Testament where tithes were from monetary income (e.g. wages from labor)? Can you find any place in the NT that negates the tithe?
I like you already........Moreover, I see that you mentioned both the WOTM and MacArthur. Both of these men are false teachers who teach justification by works, even as they claim they don't......
I'll give you a hint....chapter 7Can you find any place in the NT that negates the tithe?
I'll give you a hint....chapter 7
Now it's up to you to find which book
Actually, what is taught in the NT is sacrificial giving (something that probably indicates an amount in excess of 10%) done joyfully, with the knowledge that Christ gave His life for the Church, as an act of worship. It all goes back to dying to ourselves to live for and in Christ. Its not taught in the NT. Your argument is one from silence. What is clearly taught in the NT is free will giving.
