Doesn't really matter whether the 'in the Bible' is added to the question or not. Those who advocate the drinking choose to ignore the Bible verses against alcohol

My whole point is that Lady's remark of the "majority" believing that alcohol in moderation is not allowed is wrong.

The poll does not reflect the whole. There are a lot of people who are not even on the BB that are not participating in this poll. From what I see, most that are have a preconceived mindset that wine always means femented in the Bible and that Jesus made alcoholic wine. Two false beliefs.

Being that anyone who is a member can post here and vote in polls, the poll is really not an accurate portrayal of Baptists, let alone Fundamental Baptists. All different denominations are permitted to vote in the polls.
Now if we had a way to determine that all the voters were Baptists and "fundamental" to boot, we would have more accurate polling data.
Anyway, perhaps you would like to answer my questions about "moderation" I posted at your poll site.

Lady, you have every opportunity to make any poll you want. Go for it.
Hey, pastor SBC, if you wanna have a beer while you watch NASCAR, whom am I to dissuade you. I can't claim my lips have never touched a glass of wine. Of course, I'm on antihypertensives and know alcohol and prescription meds don't mix too well and when I drank a glass of wine, I got severe stomach cramps. (it was just a few sips, too, not even a whole glass 
) Oh, and this is before your time, but I had a part of a Singapore Sling once & really, really liked it!!! (I was going through a rebellious phase...)
All in all, I realized I could become a lush and that the Bible is true and abstinence is really the best way, lest I become a lush. I guess that's why I have such compassion and support the City Mission - I know that but for the Grace of God, could go I.

So, my guess would be that "fundamental" means someone who agrees with you. "Fundamental" should mean that the Bible is the ultimate authority, and should be synonymous with "conservative". However, there are many who think that "conservative" also means that you think just like they do and "liberal" is everything else.
And there seem to be some that have the preconceived notion that the Scriptures don't really mean what they say and need the help of man's interpretation instead of a simple translation.

Actually I do not drink alcohol. I have made a choice in my life to stay away from it because of the fact that I fear I could become addicted to it and cause much harm to my life.
However, Scripture does not prohibit alcohol, it prohibits being drunk.

Either Scripture prohibits the consumption of grape juice (if "wine" can be twisted to mean grape juice), or it permits the drinking of wine.
PASTORSBC--If the Scripture does not prohibit alcohol, why do you fear that you could become addicted? There should be no fear of addiction if the Bible permits drinking alcohol--in "moderation", of course. Are you admitting that perhaps alcohol is an addictive drug? Proverbs 20:1 & Proverbs 23:29-35 seem to indicate that this is true.
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. (Proverbs 20:1)
Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. BTW--many people who are not saved believe in total abstinence--do you ever wonder why that is? Have you ever asked a teetotler why he abstains from drinking alcohol?
