I've not seen any such thing. I've seen people saying that the cops just attacked him for no reason but that's not the truth.

Did what he do call for a death? No. The cops didn't stand there and go to kill him. It was an unfortunate result of a poor choice a cop made. Had he known that his actions would kill the man, I highly doubt he would have done what he did. Is the cop a saint? I doubt it but he certainly isn't a premeditated murderer either.

That's not the point. He used a banned choke hold. He must have known it was banned and he must have known the reason it was banned and he still used it. That's manslaughter is it not? He should be held accountable. If he did not know it was a banned choke hold then he wasn't properly trained in his dept's policy and his superiors should be held accountable.

This ruling is just giving the race baiters more ammunition. Someone needs to be held accountable.

Poncho I respect YOUR mature reply BUT your little buddy Zaac has a serious issue and hope you wouldn't lower yourself to such buffoonery.

Insulting me doesn't change the reality that some of those mired in white privilege refuse to see.

The inability of white people to hear black reality—to not even know that there is one and that it differs from our own—makes it nearly impossible to move forward.

But how can we expect black folks to trust law enforcement or to view it in the same heroic and selfless terms that so many of us apparently do when that very law, from one side of the country to the other has been a weapon used against black bodies, not a shield intended to defend them, and for a very long time?

Time to wake up a recognize that justice isn't as blind as yall would like for her to be.

So that make him a racist? Yeah,ok.

Are you daft? I never said anything about him being or not being a racist.

I said you keep feeding him.

Let me try to explain this. Zaac as everyone knows is a troll. His posts are designed to get people like you into long stupid arguments that go nowhere and accomplish nothing.

I very rarely reply to Zaac's posts so you don't see me and Zaac going back and forth acting like a couple of little girls in a pig tail pulling contest.

Leave him be. He'll go away. And even if he doesn't there's no reason you have to look as foolish as he does by getting into with him. In other words don't feed the troll.

Capsice?

And in this I agree with you. He DID choose to use the chokehold which he knew he shouldn't and as a result of using that along with other factors that the victim had, the man died. I have said all along I think the grand jury got this wrong and the cop should be charged with second degree manslaughter.

Not at all. I'm on record recommending discipline of the officer by NYPD up to and including termination.

Agreed BUT if indeed the guy died from the choke hold I think he SHOULD get involuntary man slaughter. BTW Shallow Al Sharpton should be jail for flaming the riots too!

Seems grand jury has something else presented....just a guess. 10. In order to find Officer Pantaleo criminally negligent, the grand jury would have had to determine that he knew there was a "substantial risk" that Garner would have died due to the takedown.

With 30 priors one would think the police would have a pretty good idea about who the guy was and what the condition of his health was.

Arrested 30 times - sounds like the guy had no respect for the law.

And why would they know anything about his health issues?

You're still reaching.

Law enforcement disclosure powers

Q: Can the police get my medical information without a warrant?
A: Yes. The HIPAA rules provide a wide variety of circumstances under which medical information can be disclosed for law enforcement-related purposes without explicitly requiring a warrant.[iii] These circumstances include (1) law enforcement requests for information to identify or locate a suspect, fugitive, witness, or missing person (2) instances where there has been a crime committed on the premises of the covered entity, and (3) in a medical emergency in connection with a crime.[iv]

In other words, law enforcement is entitled to your records simply by asserting that you are a suspect or the victim of a crime.

Why wouldn't the cops know about his health issues? If they didn't they wouldn't be very good investigators.

Hmmm, come to think of it you may have a point.

Why would they be interested in investigating his health?
