Basically, I agree with you but (of course there has to be a but)

First, I think what some people are complaining is that there are different standards for different groups. Apparently in some jurisdictions - religion just happens to be at the bottom of priorities.

Second, an individual should be allowed to make his own decisions.

What about seatbelt laws? I mean The old argument was, "It's not the government's business." However, having been in a high speed turnover not wearing a seatbelt may have been lethal. Laws are always limitations on sinful unlimited freedoms.

Sportzz Fanzz, I believe that attending a large indoor meeting of any kind, including a church service, with this pandemic goung on, is DARING GOD, something we're specifically told not to do.
I dont. This "pandemic" is not killing anyone at a rate any greater than the seasonal flu. You want to shut church down every flu season?

Seatbelts don't cost people their livelihoods. It's just an inconvenience. They don't cause businesses to shutdown nor Churches to stop ministering. They don't cause murder rates to go through the roof, and all the other unintended consequences we're seeing.

Do seatbelts save lives - of course they do!
But they have also been the reason people have died in vehicle collisions.
(esp for those 5'4 and under)

Did you know that New Hampshire is the only State/Commonwealth in the US that
does not have a seat belt law for adults.

Yet, would it be surprising what the vehicle death rate is:
Even in the absence of a seat belt law New Hampshire’s 2017 motor vehicle fatality rate was 7.6 per 100,000 people. That fatality rate is lower than the  U.S. average(link is external)  of 11.4  per 100,000.

Bottom line - should be up to the individual

BUT (of course there is always a but)
An insurance company should be allowed
to have "reverse" double indemnity - that is if an individual does
not wearing a seatbelt - would only get 1/2 the insurance
(or some similar plan)

You have very good points. It seems what we are really arguing about is a lot of things, from whether it is sinful to defy government in this case to whether our witness is hurt among conservatives and liberals. There doesn't seem to be any easy answers.

I am going to close this thread ( I realize we are not at the normal post count)
Not because of any problems - but because this thread has taken so many different
directions - each one which has been excellent.

Since it is close to being closed anyways

My recommendations is to have all the different points brought up in this thread re-started in separate threads
and keep that point - On point.

Excellent thread - and I appreciate the input of each and every contribute.
