Dale, I'm a board administrator and that gives me the 'power' to view the poll results without voting.

I don't like ironing but hubby really likes his clothes starched and ironed so I do it.

Diane, are you trying to tell us you are from Krypton, and have X-ray vision

That, or do BB members realize they can set up polls so they can be viewed without voting

I always wear a coat and tie on Sunday & casual on Wednesday evening. I often wear boots & a western business suit or sport coat. Most of the men in my church wear a coat and tie. In my previous church most of the men dressed casual. In the one previous to that it was about 50-50 with the older men in coat & tie and the younger men dressing casual. I don't think that the Lord cares what we wear as long as it's clean & modest. We are gathered together in church to worship Him and that is what's important to Him.

Dress shirt/Dress pants becausd that is what I wear to work which I have to go to immediately after Sunday School. When my schedule is different I like to wear a jacket and tie. How you dress effects you mentally.

Mine likes his done right, so he does it himself.

Or did. He doesn't wear that kind of shirt anymore. His father also ironed his own shirt and they had servants, so it is nothing to my hubbie. Luckily.

As long as it's GOOD stuff, you can talk about me all you want.

White long sleeve dress shirt (starched with real starch, not the stuff in the can and yes; I starch and iron it myself)
Dark Dress pants
Black leather belt
conservative Tie (striped or regimental)
Black lace up dress shoes (highly polished!)
Black socks
Watch
underclothes of course (including an undershirt, an article of clothing I've noticed some men never wear)

The church I attended previously had gone so casual that the only men who wore a shirt and tie or a suit were either the pastors, ushers or sometimes the Sunday school teachers. Very few of the men outside of this subgroup wore even a tie, much less a suit.

If I wore a tie in my (adult) Sunday school class, I got comments such as 'What are you all dressed up for"?

I shouldn't have to justify putting on a tie for Sunday morning services if I wish.

At my present church, not all men wear shirts and ties or suits Sunday morning, but at least I'm not treated as "odd man out".

The church I used to go to celebrated the Lord's Supper every Sunday...I remember hearing (more than once) illustrations like: if the president of the US invited you to a state dinner, you would probably buy (or rent) a new suit for the occation. Well, the creator of the universe is inviting you to supper, why would you not dress up?

Because the Creator of the universe is not as stupid as any man who was ever president, and He knows what we wear all the time. You can't put one over on Him like some human dunce; that's why.

Not sure what you are saying. If you were invited to a state dinner you would dress up to 'put one over on him'? and you would dress like [what?] when you go to church(?)

in answer to the original post, i ususally wear a very loud tie. i have a number of character ties, inlcuding 3 spongebob's, and a few Rush Limbaugh's.

If I were invited to a state dinner I'd wear exactly what I wear all the time. I refuse to allow people to tell me I am not good enough for God becasue I do not dress fancy. I am not a legalist. Nor do I own expensive fancy clothes.

Carharts, dickies, walmart shirts, and leather boots. When I am asked to preach somewhere, the same outfit with a walmart tie and sport coat.

I wear a suit and tie to church every week. Even during the summer. 98% of all the men at my church wear a suit and tie.
