If you think there is no Islamic threat toward America, you better wake up quick. America does live in a protective bubble. What's happening in Europe will be an everyday thing in the USA if things are not turned around --ASAP.

I wish you would wake up. You are the cause of any Islamic threat against America.

You've been feverishly building a bridge to the middle-east for our military to go there, but Muslims cross back on that same bridge. They cross back as refugees. They cross back as personal relations of US soldiers there. They cross back as business relations of American companies doing business in the middle-east with the US military. They cross back seeking revenge for your unjust aggression against them.

You've been busy helping Muslim-friendly politicians win elections. For example, Obama is in office because you wanted that Islamophobic McCain in office, a man who ran on a personal platform of surrender of America to domestic enemies and war against the peaceful state of Iran. Moderate voters weren't interested in his lust for murder, so Obama won. We can't have good conservative politicians in this country, because of Evangelicals who'll only vote for treacherous Islamaphobes.

Christian chaplains are being squeezed out of the military for not supporting same-sex marriage. Christian businesses are being force to close for not supporting same-sex marriage. Government workers are being forced to compromise their values or leave their jobs, for not supporting same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriage is being use as tool to remove Christians form public view, and otherwise oppress Christians, and you hate Muslims so much that you'd prefer to bend over in Sodom than save America's Christian heritage and freedom.

There's that phrase again. Please define who these domestic enemies are.

You mean vote for Trump.

Nice rant that has nothing to do with anything in this thread. Note to Smyth: Muslims oppose SSM.

Has the history taught you nothing. Revenge begats revenge which begats revenge with begats revenge. Many mid-eastern cultures are build are the requirement of revenge. What has it accomplished other than 1300 years of violence through revenge?

I guess you believe Jesus was wrong in his statement. Right?

Has history taught you nothing? We confronted and beat the German Nazi's and the Imperialist Japanese. The Muslims were driven out of Spain thus saving Europe from Islamic conquest. We beat them before and we can beat them now. There is no compromise with such evil and Christianity is not a faith that requires us to commit national suicide.

Compromising with evil: curious not much is heard of our current state of amorality. The majority seem to think it is o.k. to murder the unborn and engage in sexual immorality. We are overrun with drugs and the consequences thereof. We also suffer from a terminal case of racism. This situation is out of control.

Some choices: Narcissist of the century and an inveterate liar.

Jesus is still the only remedy.

Long past time to repent and do the first works.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Yes. History has taught us that the opposite of war is not peace. It has taught us that the opposite of war, and the ability to make war, is slavery.

Are you saying that history negates the teachings of Christ.

Would that a nation tried following the teachings of Christ.

I am saying that history is history and those who fail to learn from it are destined to repeat it.

It is naive in the extreme for us to think our following Christ will prevent the heathen from hating and attacking us.

It will take Christ on the Throne ruling with an iron hand to prevent that from happening.

So, you are saying that if we live by the teachings of Christ there will be no positive effect for doing so? That his words "go the extra mile" and "turn the other cheek" are words of folly?

And where did I say that?

And where did I say that?

I know you are a radical left winger but trust me, the left wing motto of "Dishonesty is the best policy" is NOT true.

Ah, now you result to insults, thus you know you are in the wrong, but are not man enough to admit that you stated stances on treating others are not in line with the teachings of Christ. You know well the answer to your question above. I know of no place where Jesus taught retribution or revenge.

Love trumps hate.

Ah, now you result to insults,
Don't you mean "resort?"

you stated stances on treating others are not in line with the teachings of Christ.
Don't you mean "your?" And please quote where I said anything about how to treat people.

I know of no place where Jesus taught retribution or revenge.
Perhaps you should read the bible a little more. God ordered the complete slaughter of many peoples.

Why don't you demonstrate on this board just exactly what that means, rather than your implied lies as to the beliefs of others that you are so skilled at spewing forth!! :Rolleyes:Rolleyes:Rolleyes

Show me words of Christ that say as you suggest. Do not quote OT passages and claim them as his teachings. Show me words that in a red letter edition would be printed in red.

If you try to quote OT verses to say what Jesus did not say you are simply being ultra liberal in your vain attempts to justify the unjustifiable.

He is not very good at actually supporting his slanderous accusations. He either just stops responding or changes the subject. :)

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

If you try to quote OT verses to say what Jesus did not say you are simply being ultra liberal in your vain attempts to justify the unjustifiable.
Acts 10:43 To him (Jesus) give all the (Old Testament) prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

All Scripture is the word of God. Jesus is the Word. Jesus is God. To deny that Jesus (Jehovah) is the author of the Old Testament is to deny the Deity of Christ.

That is true, but your interpretation is not inspired. To select a verse or verses to prove a point that contradict the NT teachings of Christ is a serious mistake and can never be justified. To equate what God told people in the OT with the words of Christ is a serious mistake. If you do not believe in the progressive revelation of God, well that is another serious mistake.

To hold as you seem to hold means you can pick and choose verses to prove absolutely anything that you want to prove. That is also another serious mistake.

The bible does not contradict itself. That is a statement an unbeliever would make.

To equate what God told people in the OT with the words of Christ is a serious mistake.
To deny that Jesus is God, and the Covenant God of the Old Testament, is a denial of one of the very basics of Christianity.

If you do not believe in the progressive revelation of God, well that is another serious mistake.
Please post a quote where I said I don't believe in progressive revelation.

You are right. But people can misuse scripture to prove a point that contradicts other scripture.

To deny that Jesus is God, and the Covenant God of the Old Testament, is a denial of one of the very basics of Christianity.

No one has said that.

Please post a quote where I said I don't believe in progressive revelation.

If you believe in progressive revelation then you certainly know that people in OT times did not have a full revelation of God and thus their understanding was different than ours. Christ, as he lived here on earth, is the fullest revelation we have of God. Thus we have a fuller understanding of what God desires. Thus our actions, if we listen and live the teachings of Christ, will be different than people in OT times. No where can you show me that in his teachings while on earth did he approve retribution and revenge. Thus, in following Christ's teachings retribution and revenge can play no part in how we treat others.
