Mitch McConnell speech - yada-yada-yada

This ignores the actual practice. The Reps have “played the gentleman” by nominating left leaning justices to supposedly “keep the balance” on the Court. Roberts is an example. The Dems may have nominated some less left leaning ones, though I don’t recall whom. But the Dems have been especially vicious with staunch constitutional nominees. Their practice was nicknamed “borking” after one such victim.
It shows priority. If the Republicans have nominated left leaning judges for the past half a century then that is on them. It is politics, I know. I just get tired of the GOP lie that they will work to stop abortion. It simply is not in their power.

The Reps have played the gentleman while the Dems play dirty. They could work to carry out the party agenda, but they fear being unpopular and marginalized.

With the entertainment and news media and the bulk of universities and colleges covering for them and promoting their agenda, and with the deep state in their pocket, the Dems have had far fewer worries. With social media now working for them, and a woefully dumbed-down populace, the Dems have almost none.

above is all true. these people will take kindness as weakness. Remember who old Unkie Saul dedicated his rulebook to.

you could nominate anybody but you can't control what comes afterwards. Really, SCOTUS is supposed to be the weakest of the three branches but it is the most powerful of them all on some issues. RvW did make law and if you look into what went on in that case, the left lied about everything. Now it's very hard for a state to get rid of abortion totally and to do that, you need an overturn.

SCOTUS does have the power but not the fortitude. Yes, I'm calling them cowards.

I agree. I do believe that abortion should be illegal. I just do not believe that it tackles the evil of abortion.

People do not kill other people based on the legality of murder.
Many people do not act on their desire to kill other people out of fear of the criminal consequence.

Only the dumb ones. The smart ones know how to get away with it (or they think they do).
Government is a somewhat effective restrainer of the wicked. I guarantee you if murder was legalized, there would be more murders. I have been to several domestics where man caught wife with other man. One of them the man killed wife and boyfriend. On three I can remember quickly, husband said I would kill both of them but they not worth going to prison over. One had been to prison for killing somebody. I have no doubt he meant every word he said.

You do realize it's too aggravating to set up the perfect crime simply to kill someone, unless there is a whole pile of money involved. If there is, that sets up a whole new bread crumb trail that's even harder to cover.

I do. It seems a lot of murderers don't.
