Think that he means that in some Christian minds, God requires us to take in salvation grace He gives thru things such as the sacraments in order to allow us enough merit to be saved by God!

mon·er·gism | \ ˈmänə(r)ˌjizəm \
plural -s
Definition of monergism

: the theological doctrine that regeneration is exclusively the work of the Holy Spirit

ok by this definition of course we should all believe that it is the work of the Holy Spirit which Baptises ( not with water ) us into the Body . We cannot birth ourselves ..i don't k no w anyone that says that they birthed themselves. Not even Catholics.

The defining line is what must be done in order to get us to that stage of having "saving faith"

What you mean, then, is not Calvinism but the "Five Points" or the response to the "Five Articles". I agree with you on that. Obviously the rebuttal in 1619 of the Articles of 1610 stands in opposition to those articles. That was their purpose.

I was speaking of Calvinism, not just it's conclusions regarding the Five Articles. We were speaking past one another.
Think that we are just looking at it in different time frames!

Habakkuk 2:4
Romans 1:17
Galatians 3:11
Hebrews 10:38
So do you believe they all mean the same ?
can you see a difference between habakuk and romans for example. ?
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith."
Habakkuk 2:4, KJV

"For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith."
Romans 1:17, KJV

Salvation includes the gift a repentance and saving faith.
The Jews are granted repentance and the Gentiles are granted repentance. There not individual gifts . Again this is Augustine trying to argue with Palagius . Augustine coming up with ideas on how to have God causing belief .

Salvation includes the gift a repentance and saving faith.
He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
Acts 5.31
Acts 11:18

When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.”

And there is no term ' saving faith ' in the bible . Nor ' died to save '

Nor is Trinity. It's a meaningless argument.

Rom. 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Saving faith, my friend.

Rather ..
10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

My point is about 'loaded terms ' The trinity is not a loaded term . 'saving faith is a loaded term. If you mean we are saved by our faith ( believing the Gosepl )then ok .
