Will he buy the reporter a new pair of glasses?

Depends.

We could go with; A general view of some people; One wrecks an others things, but the other should have insurance to cover that.

Or; A court ordered judgement for reparations.

Or; A person who decides on his own to remedy damages he caused, regardless of the reasons/circumstances.

Trump supporters aren't going to care if this guy did this because hey.......they aren't electing a pastor.

Ok, so what? He floored a very rude, nosy reporter while the candidate (now elected!)
was in the middle of an interview with another news reporter from Fox News. getting
a microphone jammed in your face might be "par for the course" when you're in public
office, but it doesn't give reporters carte blanche authority to behave anyway they want.
I'm suprised it took this long for before a candidate would react like this.

It's called provocation.

PS:
some suggest this altercation was a set up. Didn't work. He still won.

That nasty little reporter was probably not body slammed. If he was he wouldn't have been able to breath right away. He quickly said "He broke my glasses!" He was on a mission to rile the new House member up. And besides, he's not adverse to violence either. He posted something to the effect of wanting to punch a 16 year old in the face not long ago.

Would Fox News lie?

If you are going to be a politician you better get used to having microphones pointed at you.

And there it is! The reporter lied. Nevertheless, he deserved the treatment he got.

Awesome Trumpie!

BTW, Gianforte apologized for what he didn't do.

Is assault assault or is assault only assault in some cases?

And the fake news goes on.

Did he apologize for body slamming him and grabbing him by the neck ?

No. He didn't.

He apologized. He didn't refute the story. He let the story stand (as far as I know from Faux News.)

The walked back story ?

Pffft. You want this so bad to be something. It's nothing. Nothing more than gossip from people who really don't know anything about how we live up here.

I'm simply never going to buy this story as it was presented here. Not concerned with how you feel about it.

Yes, he did apologize.

He was a left wing activist for years.

Stop pretending that you think you know what I want. I don't feel anything about it.

I knew that if Gianforte physically assaulted this reporter, and he did, he would probably get more votes. It was the second post in this entire thread. That's how things roll in Montana. (I've got aunts in Helena, I've got cousins in Spokane, WA. I've got a handle on the ethos up there.)
