The only thing that is not happening is you offering scripture that teaches anything.
You calling me names or invoking the name of Calvin does nothing.
Calvin forgot more scripture than you know.
Make your best scriptural case.
Looks like everyone is answering you with no problem.

Funny you never answer the scripture that I have posted, all we see from you is blow and bluster. How many others on here have pointed out your miss reading of text and yet you still hold to the TULIP & Calvin. I did not realize that saying someone was a Calvinist was calling them names.
This is typical shallow evangelical 'populate heaven' mindset. Perpetual preaching of the word has always been God's arrangement to feed the saints in the temporal realm.

10 For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, and giveth seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
11 so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isa 55

Feed My lambs...tend My sheep...feed My sheep... Jn 21:15-17

28 Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood. Acts 20

1 The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to the will of God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock. `1 Pet 5

Modern day 'evangelism' has minimized the gospel down to a tool the Church uses to populate heaven, a formula whereby anyone can obtain immortality simply by following the instructions and repeating the incantation. If you removed the cross from the preaching it'd be pure paganism.

I understand why we preach. The post was in response to
Reformed1689 said:
The elect WERE all bought at the cross.

If all the elect we bought at the cross, as per Reformed1689, and only those so called elect, as per Calvinism, will be saved then the question is why preach.

Silverhair,

answered this already

Good verses believed by every Calvinist.

This is an idiotic comment that does not promote discussion at all.

who are the all men here?
Do you think it is all men who have ever lived?
Do you think it is gentiles worldwide and not just jews?

I see you give the typical Calvinist response. Now if it was just biblical. Your own words show that you have no regard for the character of God. You really need to study the bible more and less of Calvinism.

i did not mention calvin, just scripture. Fact is you cannot deal with it.
you have come into the deep end of the pool, go back to the kiddie pool till you learn to swim.
Typical Asinine putdowns and attacks by a Calvinist! Thanks for once again proving what many who hold the view of free will have pointed out time and again. Fruitless debates over Calvinism/Arminianism is STUUUUUUPPPPPPPIIIIIIIDDDDDDD~!
I would not go so far as to can them stupid but I do agree that when you deal with a committed Calvinist it just becomes fruitless. They will stick to Calvin as if he was divinely inspired, sad really.

What you fail to grasp is a correct study of the bible leads to the teaching known as Calvinism.
When you speak against it you are departing from truth as the OP. indicates.
The forum is open.
Every Cal. Has given similar answers from scripture.
The non Cals make caricatures and flee when scripture comes on the scene.
Try and show where you think scripture was twisted by me.
I welcome scriptural correction.
Show a direct quote where you think any twisting has taken place

Give it your best effort. :Cautious:Cautious:Cautious

No, you don't, you wouldn't keep asking if you did.

Who quoted Calvin in this thread?
I can almost guarantee you have not even read Calvin.
Most "Calvinists" have not read Calvin.
Show three quotes from Calvin that you object to.
I will wait for you to post these things.

You really need to learn how to read? The quote you wrote is not something that I wrote but never the less you are showing just how fruitless it is to talk to a committed Calvinist. I have posted scripture on here and the normal reply from the Calvinist camp is "well you just do not understand the text".

By the way I have read Calvin, both the institutes and his commentary. I have also pointed out problems in the WCF/LBCF but it is always the same response from your side. "You just do not understand" really, do you guys have different meanings for words? I thought we were using English on this web site but it looks like you want to use Calvinese.

Gospel Salvation is an ongoing, continuing process in this temporal realm, not a one time event.

18 for the word of the cross to those indeed perishing is foolishness, and to us -- those being saved -- it is the power of God, 1 Cor 1 YLT

Take heed to thyself, and to thy teaching. Continue in these things; for in doing this thou shalt save both thyself and them that hear thee. 1 Tim 4:18

Because 'being saved' is ongoing/continuing and not a 'one-off', it's essential that 'those being saved' hold fast and continue in the faith. It's essential for the sowers to keep sowing and the eaters to keep eating.

......to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before him: if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, Col 1:22,23

Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God`s goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Ro 11:22

Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand, by which also ye are saved, if ye hold fast the word which I preached unto you, except ye believed in vain. 1 Cor 15:1,2

but Christ as a son, over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end...... for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end: Heb 3:6,14

Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God`s goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Ro 11:22

And I bet you were trying to make a point here?

...and you're no different from the majority on this board, Calvinists included, in gomming up 'sozo', i.e. 'saved' to always be used in the eternal sense.

Since we are actually talking about Christian ideas then ya I would say that is the direction our posts would lean.
